The goal of this workshop is to address clinical challenges in interpreting diagnostic tests results including HOLTER, Stress Tests and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) in our day to day clinical practice in primary care. We seek to assist practi-
tioners develop diagnostic and the best management strategies for patients with cardiovascular diseases using applied knowl-edge on office cardiology tests. Lectures with question and answer sessions will afford learners the opportunity to discuss practice
dilemmas with the expert faculty.
WORKSHOP 1: PRIMARY CARE CARDIOLOGY
This half day hands-on facilitated workshop is designed to educate delegates basic obstetrics and gynaecology scans. The delegates will be able to assess fetal growth, fetal
doppler as well as basic gynaecology scans and anomalies. This workshop is also designed to educate delegates how to perform optimal and quality 3D/ 4D ultrasound by
means of correct scanning techniques and image optimisation..
WORKSHOP 2: ENHANCED PRIMARY CARE OBGYN ULTRASOUND
Medical scientific writing and publication is an important component of evidence based medicine and should be an important part of clinical work. Yet many clinicians find this task challenging. The aim of this workshop is to introduce medical publication
writing to participants. There will be two lectures: firstly, on why writing and publishing is important and a step-by-step guide on how to start. Secondly, there will be an overview of the different types of articles that can be submitted for publication and the reporting guidelines for different study designs. The facilitators will also lead a discussion on the challenges of writing and how
to overcome these difficulties.
WORKSHOP 3:MEDICAL WRITING
Malaysia is facing a new battlefront in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) which accounted for three quarters of disease burden in the country.The Enhanced Primary Health Care (EnPHC) programme piloted in July 2017 in 20 public health clinics
(klinik kesihatan) was the Ministry of Health’s initiative, meant to tackle the NCD problem at its source. This workshop seeks to fulfil the skills required by practitioners to develop the EnPHC programme in their practice settings.
