WOMEN’S CLUB NEWSLETTER Volume 73, Issue 2 website: wings.buffalo.edu/org/womens November 2014
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Our International Feast was very well attended. We
enjoyed good food, entertainment, and socializing. Thank you Meena Rustgi and Jean Jain for making this
possible.
We’re looking forward to our December Holiday Luncheon. Phyllis Stasiowski and Linda Eaton are
hosting this holiday event at the Westwood Country Club. So mark your calendars for December 5th and
don’t forget to take advantage of our Poinsettia and
Wreath Sale arranged by Donna Kosinski and Marlene Lindsay. Order in advance and pick up your purchase
the day of the Luncheon – so convenient! Also, mark your calendars for our Annual Valentine’s
Dinner and Wine Tasting event on February 6th at the Westwood Country Club. The program includes wine
tasting, hors d’oeuvres, a full-course dinner with wine
pairing, a basket raffle, and a Chinese auction. Donations for the raffle and auction – such as gift
certificates, gift baskets, merchandise, liquor, etc. – are welcome. All donations are acknowledged with a tax
deductible receipt and pick up is available. Luella
Kenny, Pat Pogodzinski, and Betty Schaertel are already planning this always successful event. Please consider
a donation. For those members who work quietly behind the
scenes, know that your efforts are appreciated and the
UBWC could not exist without you. New members, again, WELCOME! We look forward to
seeing you at our upcoming events. Finally, keep in mind that all we do benefits the Grace
Capen Scholarship Awards Fund and deserving students.
Mary Laing

As a member of the UB Women’s Club you are also a member of one of 30+ Clubs currently comprising the Buffalo

Cash Raffle to be held at the Annual Meeting on March 26, 2015 in Salvatore’s. Prizes are: $1,000 1st Prize; $500 2nd Prize;

well as taking a chance to be a cash prize winner. As a note, last year’s Grand Prize winner ($1,000) is one of our own UB
Women’s Club members!! As the saying goes…..”you got to be in it, to win it”! Looking forward to hearing from you.
