10/29/2015 WOFE: Workshop On Frontiers in Electronics
http://www.wofe.org/ 2/2
The aim of the workshop is to bring together leading scientists andengineers who work at the frontiers of electronic devices and circuits, yetrepresent traditionally separated fields and have different professionalbackgrounds. Rapid pace of electronic technology evolution and currenteconomic climate compel a merger of such technical areas as lowpowerdigital electronics, microwave power circuits, optoelectronics, etc., whichcollectively have become the foundation of today's electronic technology. The Workshop aims at encouraging active crossfertilization of thedifferent "species" in this electronic planet. The WOFE will gather expertsfrom academia, industry, and government agencies to review the recentexciting breakthroughs and their underlying physical mechanisms. Theprogram committee invites discussions of controversial issues, provocative views, and visionary outlooks. The aim of the workshop is toencourage debates on the future trends and directions and the marketpulls as well as the necessary policy and infrastructure changes. Thecommittee will welcome alternative views and rebuttals.
The Aim Of The Workshop
The Topics Of Interest The topics of interest include (but not limited to)• Microelectronics: short term (24 years) and long term (10 20 years)R&D • Wide band gap technology for high power and UV photonics• Terahertz and infrared electronics and photonics• Silicon, Germanium and IIIVs on Insulator and advanced CMOS • Sharp switch devices• Thin film transistors, giant area and printed electronics • Innovative memory devices• Spin electronics• NEMS and integrated systems• Bioelectronics and biomagnetism• Lowdimensional semiconductor materials and devices: 0D (quantumdots), 1D (nanowires) and 2D (CNT, graphene and beyond)
