Labourer Water Truck Driver As part of the Earth works team, I preformed numerous tasks as laborer that involved heavy lifting, shoveling, and raking. Other duties included excavation set up of lasers for grade, checking grade for excavator operators with laser while digging, and spotting for any equipment as required.
When needed, I would drive Peterbiult water truck to spray down roads and condition excavation areas for packing, or piles of material that were too dry to use for finish work.
Also assisted operator of a hydro-vac truck with set up and break down of equipment. Spotted for times we were required to back into work areas.

Fuel Lube Truck operator
As part of the Earth Works Teem I operated Fuel and lube trucks to maintain a fleet of heavy excavation equipment, Frost Fighters, Generators, and Light towers, using fuel and lube procedures to help mitigate spills to the environment. Make minor repairs on equipment as required. Be vigilant for potential leaks on equipment in order to help prevent environmental spills from equipment. Respond to spills with spill kits to contain spills that do happen until equipment can arrive to clean the spill.
Aside from my regular duties, I was a member of the JOSH (Joint Occupational Safety and Health) committee which met every two weeks to discuss on site safety issues to come up with solutions to mitigate work site hazards.
Canadian Pacific Railway
Rail traffic Controller March 1996-April 2014Coordinate the movements of trains and engines, while protecting Maintenance of way track work. Governed by Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR). Work closely with Yard coordinators and supervisors to plan the safe and efficient movements of trains , engines, and maintenance of track work.
Trackman Truck Driver 1987-1995Maintain and operate a B.T.M.F. truck equipped with crane for the use of track maintenance. Drive crew to work site where maintenance was required. Operate boom crane where heavy lifts were needed ie) change rail, load or unload ties, etc.
TrackmanInspect and maintain track for the safe use of railway traffic. Inspect passing trains, and report to
the trains Conductor and Engineer of its condition. Request T.O.P’s (Track Occupancy Permits) from RTC’s (Rail Traffic Controllers) on sections of track, where protection of track work, is required against other rail traffic.
Machine OperatorOperate a variety of on and off rail heavy track equipment. Ie) Spikers, Tampers, Speed wings.
Camp AttendantMaintain and repair all structural, electrical, plumbing, as well as diesel generators and heaters in an extra gang camp. Inventoried and replaced camp supplies such as water and heating fuels for use by camp personnel. Assemble and disassemble camp grey water fields and waterlines for camp movements.
LabourerAll duties necessary to prepare track for the replacement of Rail, Ties, or Ballast, with subsequent cleanup and quality control after replacements were done.
