Marinizedengineering, electrical components,& seating fabrics -Weexclusively use stainless steel and aluminumalloys throughout all our hovercraft. Engine frames, fan frames, exhaust, fuel tanks – everything is made to last in acorrosivemarineenvironment.Ourfour-strokeenginesaremodifiedin-housetoperformwell industy, icy,sandy,saltyand hot environments and we personally warranty them. Our custom engineered transmission systems have beendevelopedinpartnershipwithMegadyneofItaly-Europe’slargestmanufacturer.
Mostsmallhovercraftarebuiltforuseinriversandfreshwaterenvironmentsanddon’tofferacceptablereliabilityinsalt-water.Ourelectricalsystemusesmarinegradewiring,waterproofheatshrinkterminals,LEDlights,marinegaugesandswitches, andwatertightwire harnesses. All ofwhich are essential for reliable salt-water operations. Even if youdon’toperateonsaltwater,thisattentiontodetailaddsconsiderablepeaceofmindovernon-marinesystemsandmeansthataslongasyoulookafteryourcraft, itwill lastmanylongyearsandwon’t letyoudown.Weevenprovideanoptionaltwinbatterysystemforredundancyoncommercialcraft.Theseatingweuseisalltopqualitymarinegradeupholstery.Itcanbeendlesslycustomizedwithyour favoritecolororevencontrastingpiping. Glasswork–Hovercrafthullmanufactureisaspecialisttask.Whileithastobestrong,itmustalsobeaslightaspossibleinordertoworkproperly.It’saverydifferenttechniquefromboat-building.SomesmallhovercraftuseheavymaterialslikeHDPEfortheirhullconstruction,whichiswhytheydon’tworkatallwell.Ourteamofspecialistlaminatorsarehighlytrained to use GRP, Diolen, and Kevlar layups as well Nidaplast honeycomb and structural foam corematerials. Thisallows us to produce strong, lightweight, and durable structures with the excellent finish you expect from a top tiermanufacturer.Ourhullsareconsistentinweightandfinishandanypartsnotuptoourhighstandardsarediscarded.

We’re a ‘proper’ business! -The hovercraft industry has traditionally been the province of ‘one-man bands.’ Notnecessarily a bad thing, but it limits the ability to support products and invest inR&D.WhileHoverstreamandBritishHovercraftarebothfamilyrunbusinesses,ourcompaniesemployapproximately20staff,produceintheregionof80-100hovercraft per year (and growing!), and operate an 11,000 sqft factory in theUK and an 8000 sqft factory in theUSA.We’re founding members of the Hovercraft Manufacturers Association.
