WELLBEING AT SCHOOL
All rules are dictated by common sense and the need to look after one another properly, living together, as we do, in the same community. Remember:
1) Do not be unkind to anyone.
2) Enjoy a laugh but with others not at them.
3) Treat others at all times with respect and consideration.
4) Look after your own possessions and leave other peoples’ possessions alone.
5) Bullying will not be tolerated. Bullying includes name-calling, teasing, making unpleasant personal remarks, cyber bullying, as well as more obvious forms, such as physical violence. You must remember that while some bullying is physical, aggressive and deliberately intimidating, some is quiet, subtle, long-term and no less damaging.
If you require help:
a) Your Form Tutor, House Tutor, Housemaster/mistress, Sister, the Chaplain and the Deputy Heads are all there to help you, but you must feel able to approach any member of staff with whom you feel most comfortable over problems you may have.
b) All staff at King’s want you to be happy and will do their best to ensure that you flourish. If you have a problem then please speak to a person you trust.
c) If a particularly serious matter concerns you then there is, in accordance with Children’s Act guidelines, an external listener:
Fr Gary Colville Telephone: 01634 685098
d) Alternatively, Childline can be contacted on 0800 1111
e) Also, the NSPCC telephone number is 0808 800 5000
f) Social Services can be contacted on 01634 334466 (8.30 am to 5.15 pm Monday to Thursday / 8.30 am to 4.45 pm Friday) or 0845 7626777 (24 hour emergency number)
