The Passing of the Peace
Prelude
Choral Call to Worship
Sing We Now of Christmas
Opening Prayer (In Unison)
Eternal God, on this edge of years,
the crossroads between past and
future, we come as who we have
been and offer You who we might
yet be. Take this offering of
ourselves, a new promise to be Your
People here, holding a renewed
vision of Your Kingdom here. Take
this, take us, that we might be light
in Your world and follow You anew
as we journey across borders of
time and find new years and new
places to be Your renewed people.
Amen.
Hymn No. 245 The First Noel
Anthem In the Bleak Midwinter
Prayer of Confession
O God, You are slow to anger and swift
to have mercy; Forgive us when we
treat time as a commodity or an
enemy, when we abuse Your gift of
time. In our fastness and our slowness,
help us to keep pace with You. Free us
to live in Your time, a new time, in
which there is a time for everything
under heaven, and slow is not too slow,
and fast is not too fast. Transform us
into people who see time as a gift and a
friend, who live as if we have time,
because we know that Your time will
never cease. Through Jesus we pray,
Amen.
Words of Pardon and Assurance

January through March, and will be located on East
Hinton Street, about a mile from the church. Adults &
youth 16 years and older are welcome to participate; no
experience required! There are many jobs to complete –
no previous experience or special skills required!
Saturday work dates for Horne Memorial are January 6

the week, usually on a Thursday or Friday. We will share
those dates as soon as they are available.
