CAv6TF History
● California IPv6 Task Force (CAv6TF);● North American IPv6 Task Force (NAv6TF);● CAv6TF founded in July 2004 by Jim Bound†
(NAv6TF Chair) and Geof Lambert (Appointed CAv6TF Chair);
● CAv6TF Task Forces works with other Task Forces under the auspices of NAv6TF;
● Original CAv6TF mission focused on advocacy, adoption, and deployment-planning of IPv6 in CA.
CAv6TF Mission
● Devoted to IPv6 Use & Deployment through advocacy, education, certification, and deployment resources.
CAv6TF Goals
● Advocate – Members include volunteers who understand the fundamental importance of ipNG and want to promote the use & deployment of IPv6 through the Task Force network;
● Educate – Provide educational events (such as this and RMv6Tf event) and resources with information and tools that promote our mission;

● Certification – Provide a path to engineering and product certification through IPv6 Forum certification paths;
● Deployment – Provide regional access, expertise, and information to help with your IPv6 adoption/deployment.

Nine Task Force Regions
Accomplishments
● Advocated IPv6 to the California Technology Agency and CA Department of Homeland Security;
● Opened an IPv6 data center lab “Metronet6” for First Responder v6 testing in Sacramento County now Boundv6 http://www.boundv6.org);
● Contributed to published papers and studies for USNorthcom (Peterson AFB CO) and Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey);
● Conducted events such as this.
Accomplishments (cont)
● Provided feedback and conducted beta testing of IPv6 products for Bay Area HQ’d firewall vendors launching their IPv6 Ready programs;
● Formed Not For Profit “California Ipv6 Task Force” this year with HQ in Folsom, CA (entity By-Laws organized and ratified by Quorum) with sub-chapter in Bay Area and San Diego to allow for mission execution and event expansion;
