A. ABSTRACTThis paper aims to explore the reason of students (2A English
Education of Yogyarta State University 2012/2013), why they appreciated
the lectures. By the data, we will know the reasons which make students
appreciated the lectures and make want to study and make the students
success in their study. Data obtained by using open questioner. From the
data; we can know what the reasons, such us in psychologis side, from the
lecture side, from the methods, from the materials, and the results which
they got in their study.
This paper also offered suggestions or solutions the good models of
teaching. How to make students enjoy in class is also important. Teaching
well means helping students learn well. The suggestion for that all is such
us give the students a few time to do games, relaxations, and jokes during
the class.
B. INTRODUCTION1. Background
Learning and teaching is a fundamental thing in process of study.
We are never finished with the study of learning and teaching because we
always do that in whole our life. In university Learning and teaching, both
of them are give balance in student’s study. Both of them determine
student’s success in their study.
Teaching well means helping students learn well. Powerful
learners have expanded repertoires of strategies for acquiring education.
Models of teaching are designed to impart these strategies while helping
students develop as persons, increase their capacity to think clearly and
wisely, and build social skills and commitmen. Teaching is the process of
building communities of learners who use their skills to educate
themselves.
Learning is receives much informations, skills, and knowledge
from many sources. Models of learning are also various kinds. From
learning and teaching students can improve their capability.
Appreciated toward the lectures is including about teaching and
learning. If we are appreciate with the lecture, it certain the teaching is
right and the learning going easy. This paper wills analyst the reason of
students (2A English Education of Yogyarta State University 2012/2013),
why they appreciated the lectures.
2. Problem Formulas
What the most appreciated lessons in 2A English Education of
Yogyakarta State University 2012/2013?
Why student’s 2A English Education of Yogyakarta State University
2012/2013 appreciated those lessons (the reasons)?
What the suggestions or recommendations in teaching which can
offers to makes students success in their study?
3. Research Purpose
To explore and describe the most appreciated lessons in 2A English
Education of Yogyakarta State University 2012/2013.
To explore and describe the reasons students appreciated lessons in 2A
English Education of Yogyakarta State University 2012/2013.
To explore and describe suggestions or recommendations in teaching
which can offers to makes students success in their study.
C. METHODOLOGY1. Research were Used
This research is using qualitative data. The mean is data will be
search and will be explored based the reality voice of students. The data
inform about three most appreciated lectures. Students one by one, they
were comment the reason: why they are appreciated those lectures.
2. Data were Needed
Data were needed is informations from the students of 2A English
Education, Yogyakarta State University 2012/2013. The contents are about
lessons during semester one until semester two that the lessons which are
appreciated by student and why the students were choose the lessons (the
reasons).
3. How to Get the Data
How to get the data is with the open questioner. Students of 2A
English Education, Yogyakarta State University 2012/2013 uploaded the
reasons of three most appreciated lectures in http://yk-edu.org/. They were
also explain why they were appreciated the lessons and the lectures.
4. How to Process Data
The first step is calculate what the lesson most appreciated by students.
The second step is make category and chart from the reasons which are
resulting groups of specific reasons with specific characteristic. Such
us: the reason from psychology side, lecture side, methods side,
materials side, and the results which they got in their study.
Step three is describing each specific reason groups.
Step four is choosing groups of each specific reason wich influence to
makes students success in their study.
The last step is describe suggestions or recommendations in teaching
which can offers to makes students success in their study.
5. Data Source and Research Subject
The data sources are from students of 2A English Education,
Yogyakarta State University 2012/2013 who were upload the reasons of
three most appreciated lectures in http://yk-edu.org/. The subjects were
students of 2A English Education, Yogyakarta State University
2012/2013.
6. The Research Result Appearance
The research result appearance will be appear with table groups of
specific reasons from psychologis side, lecture side, methods side,
materials side, and the results which they got in their study then, describe
groups of each specific reason and describe suggestions or
recommendations in teaching which can offers to makes students success
in their study.

3. Describing Each Specific Reason Groups
Psychology:
Conf.7 (Confused)
The ambience so confused. Everyday students feel tired and
confused because always thinking about lot of assignment. Students
confused abaot what should they do (write). Students sometimes also
confused about the materials, the do not know what the meaning of the
materials.

Not confident always come towards the students. Average from them,
they are not confident witt their writing’s assignment. They are very worry
about their writing’s assignment.

They are feels difficult because the lecture often gives many
assignments. They are sometimes did not manage their times.

Many students get new knowledge during join the lesson especially
writing in academic paper, they are gets much knowledge from their
lecture. The knowledges are many new things. Most of students do not
know the knowledge before.

They get experience from their lecture, such us write a paper by
themselves with correct grammar, punctuation and etcetera. Experience is
great teacher.

The other is like the lecture made students tries to learn harder and
respect a hard work. There is also two students said he got bad score and
one again said he got ‘A’ mark so they appreciated that.

improve English language rules.

Funny lecture actually can be important thing in teaching. If the lecture
funny, he or she can give the student jokes and that can make the students
relax. They can join the lesson with open mind and receive many
materials.

Kind or friendly lecture is the most appreciated reason in 2A Enlish
Education, Yogyakarta State University. Friendly or kind in this case
maeans she or he knows the names of all her students, always greets the
students warmly, always keep smile, understands his or her students.
Many students like all of that personality that makes students appreciated.
YS.1 (Young Soul)
Young soul means the lecture can understand college students. He or
she can be friend for students; the lecture can share anything with students
like young people.
Me.3 (Memorable)
Sometimes, the lecture is very memorable because the first interest
memorize. Memorable can also mean very amazing in the firs meet.

Good habit also factor that the student can appreciate the lecture.
Because with good habit, whatever the lecture said surely students
following what the lecture command. Students know the command is
good, because the lecture have good habit which can we trust.

“I like this lecture because the lecturer does not make me get bored”. If
the lecture not bored, the students will pay attentiomn more in her/his
class. Many materials and activities can make student not boring.

the material lessons if the lecture can explain clearly the materials until the

student fells, they can learn and study in home. They are much appreciated
that because the tasks are challenging, the students can discussing about
the assignment with their classmate, and they can improve their skill in
writing, reading, speaking and listening.

Learning English becomes more interesting with interesting methods
too. “He teaches us with his wonderful method” said student. Students
more appreciated if methods or materials are interest things such:
motivated experience or about insight culture, us making academic paper
to prepare thesis, told students to read and understand 2 books and we
should retell its contents clearly and also with the right structure.

The unique methods are enjoying for students. The unique methods
always have been waiting by students. They not bore with unique methods
because the methods are fresher. Lecture who is gives students different
way in explain materials or lesson make students curious and continue pay
attention in this lecture. Rules are also different way in teaching; lecture

The method makes the students explore their speaking skill. From the
methods and materials students can check their ability. They can also
explore their problems during join the lessons.

Most of the students’ like more activities are applying than the
theories. Some activities are support the lesson such us watching movie,
playing dramas, and role play, through drama students can express their

teaching, lecture gives students chance and share anything with them, the
students also likes quiz.
E. CONCLUCION AND RECOMMENDATIONActually many things to make students appreciated or pay attention
in lessons. We can conclude that specific reason wich influence to makes
students success in their study are because psychology condition, their
result from the lesson, their lecture, and their teching’s lecture (methods
and materials).
From psychology condition most of students still confused but they
were can sove the problems and get many experience. From result, most of
student, they can improve their skills, especially Englsh lesson’s skills like
writing, reading, listening and speaking. From their lecture, the student
likes good personality’s lecture, most lecture that is appreciated by
students have good habits and inner beauty. From how to lecture teach,
assignment is more popular or interesting for students. With many
