INTRODUCTION
The new Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre logo demonstrates Brantford's pride in being the home town of
Wayne Gretzky - one of the world's greatest hockey players, and Waler Gretzky -one of the world's
greatest hockey dads! Originally two separate centres -the BrantAquatic Centre and the North ParkRecreation Centre, the arenas were renamed in 1982 and the pools in 1990 in Wayne's honour.
The new logo is created in black, red and white - official colours of both the Corporation of the CityBrantford as well as those of Hockey Canada. It was Wayne's wish to have the logo use the Team
Canada colours, rather than the colours of any of the teams he played for during his illustrious hockey
career. The banner element of the logo lends itself not only to the sport of hockey, but also to sport ingeneral, showing achievement and recognition.
This is the official fulltolour logo. When using the files supplied by the Comniunications Division, please
note that the colours will show up differently on different computers and printers. For accuracy in
reproduction, please use the following Pantone and CMYK colour numbers:
Pantone 485C :C-0, M-93, Y-95, K-0
Pantone 43C : C-67, M-45, Y-27, K-70

Specifications f or usage of the logo
The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre logo is for the use of staff of the City of Brantford. Staff may use anyof the versions outlined in this manual.
A l l iles will be supplied to the appropriate staff by the City of B rantford Communications Division.
Any modifications for clothing or promotional items must be requested through the Communications Division.
Other departments of the corporation that create promotions using the Wayne Gretzky name must usethe basic elements of this logo: i.e. Eurostile font, the Pantone Red 485C colour, and the approved
image of Wayne Gretzky. Any such efforts must be coordinated through the Communications Division.
Please note that, as has been the practice up till now, for corporate branding purposes, the WayneGretzky Sports Centre logo must be used in conjunction with the City of Brantford logo, whether the fullor the swash version, to identify the facility with the City. The corporate logo may be used quite small asa "sign-off', but not so small that it is no longer legible.
T h e ogo is to be used only in the proportions supplied, i.e. it must not be stretched horizontally orvertically to fit existing spaces.
Usage by Outside Organizations
Organizations or committees that are not directly connected to the City of Brantford but that receivedirect funding from the City or that lease or rent space may use the Gretzky Centre logo for the purposeof their promotions with permission from the Manager ofAquat ics and Fitness or the Manager of Arenasand F ields.

pamphlet that sits in a display rack and needs the
CENTRE facility name to be immediately visible at the top of the
