died this last year, as we light candles and gratefully remember their influence
on us and this great community of faith.
University Christian Church is a warm community that
welcomes everyone to the table. If you proclaim
Jesus as the Christ and would like to partner with
us on your journey of faith, we invite you to come
forward during the Hymn of Discipleship or speak to
a minister after worship.

On this Alll Saints Sunday, the Chancel Choir is pleased
to sing Bob Chilcott’s Requiem as we remember
loved ones who are no longer with us. British
composer Bob Chilcott is known for his eclectic style encompassing folksongs, Gregorian chant, hymns, spirituals, jazz, gospel and
African music. You may also hear the influence of Fauré
and Duruflé in Chilcott’s melodic and harmonic
writing. The Requiem’s text is derived from the Latin
Missa pro Defunctis with the addition of the prayer “Thou
Knowest, Lord” from the Book of Common Prayer.
We hope that you are blessed in the hearing of this contemplative and inspired
choral masterwork.
The Lord’s Prayer is a prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. We say this prayer together each week. It asks God to help us be generous, thankful, and humble.
You are welcome to give via text to 817-241-2780. Simply text the amount you want to give and follow the prompts. You may also give through “ShelbyNext Giving” available in your app store.
The Lord’s Supper (also called communion) is a celebration of Christ’s love for the world. We share this meal each week and everyone is welcome to participate. Our communion bread is free of gluten, wheat, dairy, yeast, eggs, soy, nuts, and corn.
The Passing of the Peace is one of the most ancient worship responses. Having received Christ’s peace, we pass it on.

Pastoral Prayer, Lord’s Prayer and Choral ResponseAll: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Call to Offering and Receiving of Tithes and OfferingsOffertorio (Requiem, mvmt. 2) • Bob Chilcott
Lord Jesus Christ, King of glory, free the souls of all the faithful departed from the pains of hell and from the deep pit. Free them from the jaws of the lion, lest hell engulf them, lest they fall into darkness. In praise we offer to you, Lord, sacrifices and prayers. Receive them for the souls of those we remember this day. Make them, Lord, pass from death to life, as you promised Abraham and his seed.
