Dear Parents,
Don’t forget that next Monday is a bank holiday and school will not be open! We
will see you all again on Tuesday 3rd May.
Curriculum news:
All classes are well into their new CLJ units for this half term. The leaflets explaining
each unit have been sent home and are also available to view or download from
the class pages of the website. In addition we are always looking for opportunities
to enrich the curriculum and make it as accessible and engaging for our children
as possible. So, next week, apart from all the usual great learning there is lots go-
ing on:
♦ Early Years are busily monitoring their duck eggs from the Vauxhall city farm
and are looking forward to the hatching date (due on Monday 16th May!)
♦ Y3 are having a Roman “visitor” in school all day next week so they can deep-
en their understanding of the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain
♦ Y4 are off to the Horniman museum to help them understand their science
work on living things and their habitats

Children’s learning at Friars: Year 3 are learning about the Romans this half term. They researched mosaics, wrote
about them and designed their own based on animals that they had seen on their recent
trip to London Zoo. Below is Jayden’s mosaic with an extract of his writing about them.
