Hello to all, Summer is in full swing. The weather has been great. I hope every-one is enjoying the summer. Our annual Clamfest was a huge success. I’d like to thank our Clam-fest Coordinators; Bob Longmuir, Butch Auchterlonie and Dave Keegan for planning, organizing and making it all happen. Super job! Special thanks to all who helped in one way or another. There’s a lot of work to make this event possible and it couldn’t happen with-out all of your help and hard work. Again, the Post can’t thank you enough. This event is our premier event at the Legion and the entire community looks forward to it. Accolades to all who help at the Legion and make Our Legion what it is today. You Are The Best! “True Community Service Oriented Indi-viduals”. Up coming events: Sunday - August 3rd - 8AM—5PM - FEED OUR VET’S BENEFIT Sunday - August 15th - 1PM—5PM—Legion Family Picnic Hope to see you all at the Legion soon. Come in often and become an active Member. Mark

YOUR PRESENT C ARD IS GOOD UNTIL DECEMBER, AND YOU WILL GET YOUR 2015 CARD AS I GO THROUGH THEM. We are now at 110 members and only have 542 renewals to go. Well hello again: Seems like the winter just left us and summer is half gone already. Fall is just around the corner and Good things are fast approaching. We will have a basket raffle coming up in Sep-tember, come on girls it doesn’t take much effort to get a basket made and it's for a young mother who has breast cancer. In November our SockHop is booked and "SMOKIN" is playing. We had a great time with the last 2 we had so Save the date Nov 15. We’ll be setting up committees for the KIDS HALLOWEEN PARTY and KIDS CHRISTMAS PARTY soon. Those are ways you can volunteer and the kids love them. Friday night Fish Fry is still going strong and volunteers are always needed for 50/50. In December we will be caroling at the VA Hos-pital again this year so come on and bring those lovely voices and make someone smile. ‘till next time Remember when you see a veteran smile and thank them for serving 9 times out of 10 you will get a smile back.

Greetings fellow Legion members, The summer is flying by as usual, so enjoy it while you can. Membership stands at 80, we have lost a couple of members who have moved. If you are interested in becoming a Rider contact me or any of the Officers. I want to thank Maureen " Moe" McNamara for her services as Sunshine coordinator, Moe is stepping down due to her and Mac moving to Florida, best of luck guys. Our Chaplin, Jeannie Ebert will be taking over these duties. The Legion Riders will be donating $300.00 to the VA Crisis Center for their upcoming BBQ, ( Weds. Sept. 10th ) this is our way of thanking them for the outstanding work they do for our community and our Vets. The Riders also painted the large shed next to the Pavilion prior to the clam fest. Our next meeting is Tuesday August 12th, this will be a ride with staging at the Legion at 6pm, KSU at 6:15. Visit our website at alr787.com for rides and more. Remember, Freedom is not free. Support our troops. Bruce Dauer President ALR 787
