Notes from Mr. Sprague Congratulations to our Volleyball Teams who competed in the JV Tournaments and the 8th Grade Varsity Eudora Tournament. We are so proud of all of the work that you are doing. I also want to thank all who came out to support our students.
This Week we have Coffee with the Principal on Thursday morning at 7:45 - 8:30. I look forward to visiting with our parents about our school.
We also have a joint SHMS / WSMS Parent University event scheduled at WSMS in our Multipurpose Room on October 7th at 7:30 pm. Vaping has become a significant health concern for youth in our country. Our guest speaker is a former student-athlete who has developed health issues as a result of vaping. You are all invited to this important session as we all work together to keep our students safe.

PLC Late Start October 2, 2019 This Wednesday, October 2, 2019 is a PLC Late Start. The school day will officially begin at 9:10 am. We will be open for kids starting at 7:45 with Y-Clubs for our students beginning at 8:05 am. Busses will run at regular times. Some families have asked if students can sleep in and come at 9:10, and the answer is yes. However, we know that is not always an option. This week the Y-club activities will be:
Wiffleball- Gym & Outdoor Space
Come join us in the gym or outdoor space for Wiffleball! Wiffleball is a simplified version of the game of baseball/softball that is designed to be a miniature version of the game.
Book Club- Back Multi-Purpose Room
Join us in Book club to talk about the books you are reading, popular authors and connect with other book enthusiasts just like yourself! Do not forget to bring your book!
Leaders Club- Front Multi-Purpose Room
Join Leadership club and learn about the importance of being a leader and put those skills to test with fun and active games!
Homework Club - 6th-grade pod
Did not quite get all that homework done last night or need some extra time to study. Bring your homework and focus on completing your individual homework assignments.
Traffic Concerns at PCES Dismissal Our goal is to ensure the safety of students before, during, and after school. Traffic at dismissal can get backed up at the PCES entrance to the parking lot on 165th street. We are getting word from the PCES staff that drivers are passing cars who are waiting to turn left into the parking lot. This creates an unsafe environment for vehicles entering the parking lot and students trying to cross the crosswalk.
A safer route for our families to the east of Prairie Creek is to take Murlen to the roundabout and continue to 167th street to Woodland Spring Middle School. This will help alleviate the traffic on 165th Street
We appreciate your help in keeping our Prairie Creek Students safe and using this alternate route.
