WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING?
• Cloud computing is:
– Virtualization of the underlying infrastructure (hardware and data layer) up to the operating system. It is unaware of the application layer
– Allows users to obtain computing capabilities (on-demand) through the internet from a remote network of servers on a pay-as-you-go basis
• Don’t confuse it with hosting services at an ISP
