Notes for Parents

It is important for students to spend 20 minutes each night independently reading. They may choose to read their A.R. book, homework activities, or any other reading

material they are interested in. Research shows students who read 20 minutes per day increase their fluency and comprehension skills.

Math How do I identify points, lines, line

segments, rays, angles, and perpendicular and parallel lines in two dimensional figures?

How do I identify different types angles and triangles?

Science I can compare and contrast the

differences between stars and planets. I can obtain, evaluate, and

communicate information to compare and contrast the physical attributes of stars and planets.

What causes seasons? What causes day and night?

HOMEWORKStudent Choice: Reading Log can be completed in the

morning during STAR time, or in the afternoon for homework. Students will need to read for 20 minutes at
