    Minutes of October Membership Meeting

    meeting was called to order by President Paulline at 1900 hours. Officers present, Vice-presidente Peterson, Secretary, John Lavelle, Treasurer Harold Hansen. The members recited the pledge ofgiance and observed a moment of silence for POW/MIA and also for those still serving in harms way.heet was passed for members to sign and each member stated their attendance. The minutes of thetember meeting were approved as published in the October newsletter. Treasurer Hanson informedmembers of the financial status of the chapter. Membership Chair Larry Witt informed members thatare again inching towards 200 members. Get out and recruit new members. Steve Satre was sworn ina Director. The Clover Sales in Muscatine raised $1100. This month Jim Owens and other members of

    chapter visited the Bettendorf Nursing Home on Crow Creek Road. The motion was made to donatehe Military Explorers to purchase climbing equipment and the chapter passed a donation of $100 togroup. A request was made by SAU to help sponsor a Veterans Conference in February and thepter passed a donation of $500 for this event, to be held on February 7, 2015. The motion was madeay for a Vietnam Veteran as a guardian in an Honor Flight of the Quad Cities during the year 2015,motion passed. A need for Vietnam Veteran requiring new clothing was brought before the

    mbers and this motion passed. The picture of the Vietnam Veteran Wall is now hanging on the wall att 26, where it will be exhibited along with other items from the Vietnam War. The members willicipate in the Region 6 Meeting at the Wild Rose Casino in Clinton on Friday evening and Saturday.

    e Peterson is planning a 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War event that will include communitymbers of the Vietnamese military and their families. There is also in future planning the concept of aade for Vietnam Veterans in 2016 along with the possibility of a display in conjunction with thenam Museum. Members were reminded that the chapters Trivia Night would be held on the Fridayowing the October chapter meeting. Bill Matthews had some of the donation containers at theeting and distributed them to members who would deliver them to merchants and also check on themodically. If any member knows of a location where a donation container could be placed, contact Billthews. Toys For Tots is located at 53rd and Treamount. The chapter voted to donate $250 to Toys Fors this year and will have some dates at the November meeting for members to assist with packagings for good little boys and girls. Members are asked to bring along an unwrapped childs present to

    November meeting. The Christmas Party is set for the first Thursday in December and will be held aterican Legion Post 26. There will be two meats served and a gaggle of fun, cost is $16.00 per person.Christmas Party is December 4th, gathering at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend. The chapter will be

    anizing an Agent Orange Town Hall meeting and Greg Paulline is forming a committee. The town halleting will be held at SAU Regalski Center on March 7th. The chapter has budgeted $2000 for thisnt. There is an effort to include both VVA Chapter 299 and VVA Chapter 669. Reminder that theember chapter meeting will be held at Post 26, due to the early closing of the Bettendorf Library. The
