Experimentation and patience are key!
Grade Translations (O, G, S, N, U) are set by the district and should not be edited!
Student grades can be changed, regardless of their average, when completing report cards.
Setting Up Categories and Assignment Weighting
1.) Click on “Setup”
2.) Scroll down and click on “Edit Categories”
3.) To edit a category, click “Modify Record” (more information below)
To add a category, click “Add” (more information below)
4.) Adding a category
Click “Setup”
Click “Edit Categories”
Click on “Add”
Complete the following fields:
o Category Code – Short description (ie. HW)
o Description – Detailed description for your information (Homework)
o Default Grade Type – Will your grade go in as a number, letter, or check mark?
o Percentage of MP Grades – Assignment weight (each MP)
SAVE!
5.) Editing a category
Click “Setup”
Click “Edit Categories”
Click on “Modify Record” (next to the appropriate category)
The window will look similar to when adding a category
Edit where necessary
Adding Assignments and Editing Grades
Adding Assignments:
1.) Click on “Gradebook” OR the grades notebook next to the appropriate subject
2.) Click on “Add Assignment”
3.) Complete assignment information
Tip: Subject/Course can be
changed from this window
(pull-down menu)
Tip: Assignments can added
AND edited through the
Quick Links menu.
Assignment Name – How the assignment will appear in your gradebook
Assigned Date / Due Date – Keeps your gradebook sequential
Category – Test, Quiz, HW, or Other
Grade Type – Will your grade go in as a number, letter, or check mark?
4.) SAVE!
5.) Click on “Gradebook” to go back to gradebook view
Inputting and Editing Grades:
1.) Click in an empty box under the appropriate assignment
2.) Input student grades (or mark absent, missing, etc.)
3.) SAVE!
4.) Click on “Gradebook” to go back to gradebook view (see below)
Accessing Student Information
1.) Click “Student Data”
2.) Select Homeroom
3.) Click “Search”
4.) Click on student’s ID number to access information
From the Gradebook view:
View different courses/subjects
View running MP grade
View individual student
assignments (click student
name)
Edit assignment information
(Quick Links) and student
grades (click on student’s grade
under the assignment)
Reports
1.) Click on “Reports”
2.) Click on Report name OR “Run this Report” (small black notebook) next to appropriate report.
3.) Complete information (teacher, course, MP) and click “Run”
This will open a PDF document, which can be printed
Popular Elementary Reports:
o Birthday List – student birthdays
o Gradebook Empty Spreadsheet Report – list of students with blank grid (must be re-run for each
subject)
o Gradebook Spreadsheet Report – list of students with grades (must be re-run for each subject)
o Missing Assignment Report – list of student’s missing assignment (must be re-run for each
subject)
Copying Categories and Weighting from Year to Year – (everything is set to default each year)
1.) Click on “Profiles”
2.) Click “Last Year” tab
3.) Click “Copy Profile to ____________”
4.) Click on “Setup”
5.) Under “Course Setup,” select course/subject
6.) Under “Course Profile,” select saved profile from the previous year
7.) Click “Save” (disk icon)
8.) Go back to #5 and repeat for each course/subject
