vinegar produce a
gas which fills the
balloon.
Because HC2H3O2 (the acetic
acid in vinegar) + NaHCO3
("baking soda") gives:
NaC2H3O2 (sodium acetate) +
H2CO3 (carbonic acid). The
carbonic acid then
breaks down into H2O (water)
and C2O( carbon dioxide).
