FRAMEWORK HOUSINGThrough the superimposition of a new graticule a greater cohesion of the neighborhood is achieved.
Thanks the truss series, that were superposed to the buildings, a better relation and visual cohesion
between the different areas of collective use (squares, parks, streets) is created. The apartments to be
built are featured by the uniqueness of making them fit into the truss. These buildings are conceived as
crystal boxes inside a metal jail. The Access floor space, which is completely diaphanous, is characte-
rized by the staircase’s presence. This creates two different rooms, the kitchen and the living-room. All
these space is surrounded by a big terrace. Other rooms are located at the superior floor and they are
equally situated around the staircase. In order to create a higher differentiation among the different
spaces, some wardrobes are placed as an intermediated space.
A committed architecture student willing to learn and able to deal with stressful situations and deadlines whilst remai-ning both accurate and good humored. I am a creative, reli-able designer, with great knowledge in CAD programs and graphic design programs. I am used to working in a team or independently and look forward to work in a multicul-tural and international office, taking advantage of my good communication skills, supported by my advanced language knowledge in Spanish, English, German and French.

Memoria
corredores -trama existente- y patios -trama propuesta-.
espacio intermedio.

CLOISTER
The main idea of the Project was to
do a space closed from the outside
were the important is what is in the
inside. That explains the reference of
the cloister. It also has a transparent
solid attached that works as a relation
with the city that can be seen from
the principal street. It contains the
hall and the communications. The
whole building represents the dualism
of the parts of a museum, the public
space and the space for silence and
reflections.

04 HARRIET CAMACHO
SMALL ACTIONS -BIG IMPACTSThe exercise is focused on the understanding of the existing
urban conditions of the ancient Galata neighbourhood and
its relationships with the waterfront. We think the edge not
as a line, but as state. Galata’s association with the water is
its reason to exist: a watchtower overlooking the
articulation between the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn.
To regenerate such a dense and large district is very
complex. Instead of trying to solve general problems with
a master plan, the group proposes to act on specific points
throughout the area that allow the thinking of concrete
interventions. These small actions might have bigger urban
repercussions in the future, according to their location,
investment or use. The group envisions a future quarter
with more open public spaces that help to articulate the
urban fabric, the creation of new parking garages around
the main coastal road in order to relieve sidewalks from
cars, well connected transportation hubs, recreational and
cultural areas according to the scale of the district, and
reference spaces that reinforce the condition and memory
of Galata.

POST - IT
ARCHITECTS
is a global operating architecture and urbanism practice with an progressive ideal engaged in solving global issues. The founding member are Luis Betancor, Harriet Camacho, Estefanía Guerra y Marisol Gomez , all studied architecture in the Polytechnic of Madrid, in expection of Estafanía who studied in munich. In our team we have different specialists, construction specialist, architect and planner specialist and designing and digital media specialist, so we embrace all aspects, yet we also work with companies specialized obtaining the product we really want, Our process of designing the project consists firstly analyzing the area where it is located looking for problems and also listen to citizens opinion, then we create a master plan. Secondly we work in groups, in a smaller scale, so we get two projects two different points of view, discus-sing all aspects, then we switch them so we de-velop them, and finally we get the main project, developing it till the last detail.
OUR MISSION
06
Our principal mission is to solve actual problems in the city, working in different scales, buildings have an impact in the city when we build them, so we need to analyze problems from a bigger scale, the surroundings. We believe small projects have great impact. However this isn’t the only objective, we also take on the project other aims, we believe technology is an import issue nowadays that is developing in great velocity, so we work with other companies specialize in the issue we are working on, to get the best results. Together design, architecture and technology we get great results. Also renewable energy is present in our design and projects. Again we try to work with companies specialized in the issue, we try to not only use sustainable technology, but also we try to incorporate them in the design of the project
Our team have never worked together before, so it was difficult to know if everybody would help with all the work and the do their parts. So the easiest way was to do a contract where it’s written the part of each member of the group. Because of the work we had to do, the roles have been changing all the time depending on the technical skills of each member of the group, but in general, we are proud to say that we have done a good job and a good time together.

The Silicon Valley Association en-courages adopting a strategic appro-ach, unique among other technologi-cal institutions that would distinguish the Plaza Centre and bring it into play on the international technological
landscape.
This would reaffirm the mission and priorities of the Plaza Centre as a plat-form for exchanges between society and technological creation, in pursuit of a vision outlined by different Ins-titutions, both linked to America and Europe. A popular venue designed for the entire population, the Plaza Centre will closely follow the world of technology and will establish links with a number of worldwide enterpri-ses, particularly to those with an in-ternational projection willing to share and contribute to common research
and progress.
The aim of this initiative is to create a forerunner for an International Tech-nology Institution, which supports young and committed entrepreneurs where to show the worldwide techno-
logy advancement.
As a result of the success that ARCO (Feria de Arte Contemporáneo) has had since 1982, the Menil and Guggenheim Foundation, in coopera-tion with Madrid´s Ifema Institution (Institución Ferial de Madrid), have decided to place a centre of art and social innovation and interaction right at Madrid’s heart. In the search of a place to connect the technological scenarios of Europe and America, Madrid appears to be the perfect location.
THE INVESTORnew vision for Plaza España
09
PLAZA ESPAÑA
Though its veering and changing content the intervention needs a high level of flexibility, allowing its use to be changed. It has to be designed as an evolving spatial diagram capable of welcoming all forms of activities, both known
and yet to be discovered.
It has to be a building designed to host multidisciplinary programs. Every field of technology has to be present, allowing entrepreneurs to
show their most recent work.
It also has to be a public establis-hment for cooperation, accessible to everyone and connected to its
surroundings.
Thus defined, the Plaza Centre has an interna-tional mission implying that the institution not only has a presence in Madrid and Spain, but seeks to develop its ac-tivity countrywide with a firm commitment to technological decentra-lization and worldwide innovation exchange.

THE PROBLEMS
12
300.000 people pass through Plaza de España by walking each day, which
makes about 100 million per year.
From those 75 % just passes by, while
the remaining 25% enters into the Plaza.
Only 50% of the adjacent buildings space/occupancy capacity is in use.
Generally speaking, the intervention
in the Plaza has a 84 % probability to success, taking into account only the money made by the parking profits. Seems worthy to us!
About 45% of them make it by sub-way.
The remaining 20% uses the bus.
If the buildings were completely full in terms of capacity/occupancy, the parking supplies would only cover the
8,4% of the residents and office staff needs.
Another 500.000 people cross the plaza using different transports me-thods.
About 35% of them make it by car.
13 STRATEGY

The building: we use the bottom of the slope to gather some uses and put visual limits.
Final projectation of the U Turn Centre.
The movement: we look for something that ma-kes an impact for the people.
The U: we decide to mark out the plaza by a platform.

THE U - TURN CENTRE
16 This building is conceived to host a complex program of activities; however, the schema to run it, is very simple. Simplicity of basic rules and flexibility are key to complexity.
The U-Turn Centre allows young entrepreneurs to show their most recent work in the fields of technology. Each entrepreneur will have access to a private place where to work on his
own and where to receive visitors and possible investors.
Every year, there will be a public competition between candidates to select those who deserve and are eligible for the grant. The candidates selected will be responsible for the maintenance of their workspace. Electricity, air conditioning, heating, cleaning service and doorman services expenses, among others, will be covered by the Centre. These ex-penses will be partially paid by the benefits of the public parking underneath and the lease of the retail space located at the ground floor. The rest of the costs, as scholarships aimed at the program members and materials and equipment costs will be paid by the Silicon Valley Association for Innovation, Development and Investigation and other affiliated companies.
The Ifema Institution will be responsible for the organization of events and presentations and Madrid’s Polytechnic University will supervise the performance of the Centre.
Once completed every year grants, this process will be repeated.

PLAN 18
MARKETWe propose too that the market that is now in the middle of the plaza to get into the building. It would give a better image of the place.
PLAN 20
BAR - RESTAURANTWe propose a place for restaurants and bars that gives life to Plaza España the whole day. It gives a lot of joy to the plaza.
EXHEBITION HALLThe building could also have temporal expositions. It’s a building in a plaza that every-body knows, so putting there an exposition would make it successful.
EDUCATION
PLAN 22
CINEMAIt would be a great time for people of all ages to make a cinema in the middle of the plaza. This would be very practical during the summer season in Madrid.
The roof is passable, so people can walk above it and have differents points of view of this special and iconic place of the centre of the city.
