How does it work?
The Atritor Turbo Separator includes a
variable-speed shat which is tted withpaddles. The shat rotates above three
screens, each o which is available in anumber o dierent sizes and designs.
Various types o paddles are available,
each designed to perorm a specicunction. One type generates air fow,
others are more ecient at openingparticular types o packaging with
urther designs used to convey or retainmaterial within the separation chamber.
By combining dierent types o paddlesin the Turbo Separator, very high
separation eciencies can be achieved.The Turbo Separator shat typically runs between 100rpm to 1,000rpm, generating air fow as well as
providing the mechanical orces required or packaging separation.
The material to be separated enters the separation chamber and comes into contact with the primarypaddles which open the packaging. Paddles and screens are congured so that maximum separation is
achieved with minimum damage to the packaging.
The longitudinal strips o steel (breaker bars) inside the casing o the Turbo Separator, when used inconjunction with beater paddles, cause a squeezing eect which is especially eective at separatingpouches and sachets rom their contents.
What does it do?
The Atritor Turbo Separator was developed to remove products rom their packaging, releasing it or
recycling or disposal.
Through a combination o centriugal orces, sel- generated air fow and mechanical action, up to 99% odry or liquid materials can be removed rom their packaging.
When compared with other methods o packaging separation, theTurbo Separator achieves higher separation eciencies with
lower power consumption which results in reduced runningcosts.
The Turbo Separator is ideal or separating out o spec, out o
date and mislabelled products rom a variety o packagingincluding cans, plastic bottles and boxes.
The diverse range o applications includes the separation opaper rom gypsum in plasterboard, glass rom laminate in car
windscreens and general oodstus rom their packaging.

Paddle Design
Each paddle is designed to perorm a specic unction. These unctions include generating air fow,opening, squeezing or fattening packaging, grinding, material conveying and packaging conveying.
Screen Design
Each Atritor Turbo Separator is tted with three screens. Each screen is sized and designed to achievethe optimum separation eciency. There are over 20 sizes available with round, square, rectangular and
triangular appertures.
