OBJECTIVE:Software Engineering/Robotics Engineering Internship Summer 2016

EDUCATION:Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) August 2014 - December 2017

Robotics Engineering and Computer Science double major, Bachelor’s Degree; GPA: 3.32

PUBLICATIONS:Advancement of WPI’s Sustainability Engagement and Education May 2016

Interactive Qualifying Project; This project aimed to research, identify, analyze, and implement methods forimproving WPI’s sustainability engagement and education both in the classroom and in campus culture

Real World Robots May 2013Martin, T. (with N. Gigliotti)[a children’s e-book on robots] The Scientia Review (www.scientiareview.org)

EXPERIENCE:iRobot Software Engineering Internship May-August, December 2016

Worked with a team developing an outdoor lawn care robot. My tasks included: linux networking, writinglibraries in Python, debugging robots, writing documentation, and solving multidisciplinary problems. I alsoresearched, programmed, tested, and presented a radar sensor for detecting human presence

iRobot Mechanical Engineering Internship May - August 2015Developed a test fixture involving: machining, CAD modeling, manufacturing wires, developing circuit boards, programming, and Python data manipulation. Brought the standard deviation of testing variables below 0.5%

PROJECTS:Major Qualifying Project - Sailbot 2016/2017 August 2016 - Present

A fully autonomous sailboat to compete in the International Robotic Sailing Regatta. The robot will be ableto navigate without human intervention using GPS, IMU, Camera, and other on board sensors. The robot willfeature a fully custom controls system using real time multi-threaded processes written in C++

Campus Navigation App - CS 3733 December 2015Our group used Java and JavaFX to build a GPS style navigation app to display directions from any room oncampus to any other. Features included: easy-to-use interface, robust A-Star search algorithm, smooth graphics, and turn-by-turn directions (voted best app overall among 10 class projects)

Autonomous Nuclear Reactor Robot - RBE 2001 October 2014A custom built robot to operate a mock nuclear reactor which featured lazer-cut and 3d printed parts, a fullyanalyzed four bar, linear slide, 12+ sensors, custom wiring, Arduino Mega, Bluetooth communication, andmulti-layer state machine based code

FIRST Robotics Competition 190 - 2014 Robot January - March 2014Lead programmer for Team 190’s 2014 FRC robot which featured: fully custom welded aluminum chassis, 10+sensors, PID control, semi-automated Java command based programming. Won 2 design awards and an event
