The training and experience specified in Subparts B, D, E, F, G and H of Part 35 must have been obtained within the 7 years preceding the date of application or the individual must have had related continuing education and experience since the required training and experience was completed.
§35.57 Training for experienced Radiation Safety Officer, teletherapy or medical physicist, authorized medical physicist, authorized user, nuclear pharmacist, and authorized nuclear pharmacist.
(a)(1) through (3) RSO, AMP or ANP on a NRC or Agreement State license before January 1, 2011, need not comply with the training requirements of §§ 35.50, 35.51 or 35.55, respectively.

• All RSOs, AMPs and ANPs listed on a RML prior to January 1, 2011 are grandfathered
• All new proposed RSOs are now required to be board certified, be named as an AU/AMP/ANP on a RML, be a certified AMP or complete a structured educational program (200 hours didactic training, 1 year full-time training)
• All new proposed AMPs are now required to be board certified or satisfy educational, training and work experience requirements
• ALL NEW proposed RSOs, AMPs, and ANPs are now required to submit WRITTEN ATTESTION signed by a qualified preceptor RSO, AMP or ANP, as applicable.
