Who is CATHSSETA?
CATHSSETA is the SETA for the following sub-sectors:
• Arts, Culture and Heritage• Tourism and Travel Services• Hospitality• Sport Recreation and Fitness• Conservation• Gaming & Lotteries
Each sub-sector has a chamber coordinator appointed to deal with skills development, research and planning.
CATHSSETA mandate CATHSSETA is mandated under Section 29 of the Constitution to provide all people in South Africa the basic right
• To a basic education, including adult basic education; and
• To further education, which the state, through reasonable measures, must make progressively available and accessible.
Under the Skills Development Act of 1998 (as amended), the act prescribes that one CATHSSETA’s core functions should be to promote learning programmes, by identifying workplaces for practical work experience.
The CATHSSETA would like to appoint accredited training providers to deliver the
following programmes:
• Programme 1 Marketing for small businessesSAQA ID: 114583, NQF Level 4, 8 credits
• Develop, implement and evaluate a marketing strategy for a new venture,
• Programme 2 Finance for non-financial managersSAQA ID: 252040, NQF Level 5, 8 credits
• Manage the finances of a unit,
The CATHSSETA would like to appoint accredited training providers to deliver the
following programmes:
Programme 3 CATHSSETA Advanced Customer Service ( CUST/ServProgr/5/0095), 21Credits
• SAQA ID: 14734 Deal with customers• SAQA ID: 7865 Improve service to customers• SAQA ID: 7836 Monitor Customer Satisfaction
• SAQA ID: 8490 Contribute to sustainable tourism in South Africa
The CATHSSETA would like to appoint accredited training providers to deliver the
following programmes:
Programme 4 Amended Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment codes of Good
PracticeSAQA ID: 119345, NQF Level 5, 15 credits
• Applied principles, regulations and legislation underlying supply chain management in the
public sector,
The CATHSSETA would like to appoint accredited training providers to deliver the
following programmes:
Programme 5 Statutory RegistrationsSAQA ID: 263375, NQF Level 4, 20 credits
• Demonstrate an understanding of statutory legislation and requirements

Performance Requirements for SMMEs
• CK registration document
• Must be trading in the CATHSSETA sectors, or trading in all aspects
• Should the SMME be trading in all aspects, an affidavit must be submitted indicating the
relevant sector the SMME is participating in, i.e. catering
• Certified identity document, certified within a month of training
• A registration form for the small business support stating the kind of support provided
• Attendance registers with a clear purpose of supporting small businesses
