iCIMS | Top Talent Acquisition Predictions for 2017
“The future of talent acquisition is bright, especially as
recruitment marketing continues to mature and evolve as a
critical component of success in modern talent acquisition.
Talent prospecting and pipelining, talent attraction and engagement, etc.—each of the many moving parts of recruitment marketing presents its own unique opportunities for employers to do more and do better. But managing all of these disparate elements poses real operational and technical challenges. As such, I believe we’ll see a few things play out in this fast-growing sector of the HR tech landscape:
1. Increased consolidation as the recruitment marketing platform and candidate relationship management emerge as the next big categories in TA tech.
2. Renewed focus on integration capabilities (upstream and down) as end users struggle to build the optimal tech stack.
3. Continued demand for improved analytics across the board as data-driven recruiting becomes a critical business requirement rather than just another square in buzzword bingo (which ties in with prediction #2).

“Recruiters have one major problem.
They need an easier way to attract, recruit, and hire talent.
If a technology provider is not solving that problem, they do not have a viable solution. According to Aptitude’s 2016 Hire, Engage, and Retain survey, only 3% of companies are using the full functionality of their ATS systems.
Companies either don’t know the functionality is there or they don’t understand how to use it. Again, many of these solutions are too complicated. If you want to give recruiters and candidates what they need, technology providers need to make it simple.

2017 will be the year when organizations really start to expand their talent acquisition
technology capabilities, by purchasing new, intuitive talent acquisition platforms and by
acquiring onboarding technology solutions. In particular, there is real pent-up demand
for onboarding technology solutions.
As the economy continues to grow, organizations are finding it more difficult and expensive to attract new talent.
Onboarding technology solutions will enable those organizations to speed
time-to-proficiency, engage, and retain the much sought-after talent.

iCIMS | Top Talent Acquisition Predictions for 2017
“Collaboration is going to be at the heart of talent acquisition in the coming years as both employers and employees are looking for a more real-time and transparent system to identify, evaluate and nurture new talents. Real time delivery of both structured and unstructured data will be the key.
That means having the ability to comb through massive amounts of online and offline data on candidates and their relevant experiences in order to fill positions with the right mix of qualifications, skills and growth potentials.
Transparency is also vital because trust in one’s organization or even with each other cannot be fully established until you acquire a system that provisions the right information to the right people, allowing everyone to collaborate and manage teams and projects in an open manner, while developing and strengthening a workplace culture based on trust.

“In today’s digital environment, we all have created elaborate virtual self-portraits through a variety of social media channels. The amount of information that can be found about ourselves in cyberspace forms our unique digital DNA.
While predictive analytics can to some degree identify the best hire, being able to search cyberspace and match a candidate’s digital DNA with the ideal employee DNA would enable organizations to hire the candidate with the best fit for our organization—it would be similar to running a fingerprint through a database to find a match.
This is the future of finding talent—science and technology.

“Given the volatility of 2016, letting the dust settle and taking inventory will summarize 2017.

Organizations adjusting to new solutions, processes and delivery models will stay focused on results-based measurements and business performance improvements. Predictive modeling—either robust succession planning, or recruiting trend and analysis tools—will play a larger role in defining recruiting needs, position requirements and ultimately, determining right-fit talent.
Tied in with these solutions, we’ll see the return of conceptual search for talent identification and third party data consolidation, and search and results-based products will take center stage to provide better data analysis for candidate selection.

“With no immediate signs of the labor market loosening up, I think we’re going to
see organizations pivot to focus on quality of hire in relation to their long term
plans. Meaning, culture fit hires are going to be paramount as excessive budgets
shift to long term business initiatives and culture-driven training programs that
improve employment durations.

iCIMS | Top Talent Acquisition Predictions for 2017
“With the sustained momentum in the U.S. economy, job growth looks likely to be strong through at least the first half of 2017. Short-term interest rates may take another small step upward as the Federal Reserve proceeds with rate hikes, but longer-term rates will likely be held down by headwinds from abroad. The U.S. is likely to remain the most vigorous of the developed market economies and so will continue to benefit from capital inflows from abroad.
All of this means U.S. firms will be able to remain opportunistic in making their investments and the competition for new hires will remain stiff. Regardless of the market environment, HR technology will continue to advance, and the next steps forward in data analytics will open up new theaters in the war for talent.

iCIMS | Top Talent Acquisition Predictions for 2017
“As the hiring technology landscape has become more complex, employers are faced with a large and growing collection of solutions that are designed to address their unique needs in the quest to find, screen, hire, and retain best-fit talent.
This growing complexity has created the ideal climate for a leading Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) in the HR technology space to emerge—one simple-to-use system of record that unifies all talent acquisition tools into one common language and interface via powerful integrations.
The most progressive hiring companies will look for a stable, intuitive platform to serve as the hub for all things talent-related—a ‘Salesforce-like’ system that offers connections to other solutions and can organize and report on all aspects of their hiring pipeline.
