In the spring of 1934…the Seal was born! The launch of its first Easter "seals" campaign to raise money for services
Cleveland Plain Dealer cartoonist J.H. Donahey designed the first seal. Donahey based the design
on a concept of simplicity because those served by the charity asked
"simply for the right to live a normal life."

The lily - a symbol of spring -was officially incorporated as Easterseals' logo in 1952 for its association with resurrection and new life

Specialized Pediatric Services

Physical/Aquatic, Occupational, and Speech Therapies.
Socialization and mentoring programs (Teen Group) specifically geared towards teens with disabilities.
Weekend Respite services to care for children with disabilities so that parents and caregivers can receive needed relief and support.
Ohio Home Choice
Teen Group: A social group for those 13 to 21 years of age with disabilities or special needs
Encourages teens to make friends, embrace their talents, learn new skills and have fun!
Meets monthly for recreational outings

Weekend Respite
Medically Fragile Children & Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Twice a month up to 8 children spend the weekend (Friday evening to Sunday evening) with trained staff (includes RN/LPN)

Adult Day Care with Transportation Home Delivered Meals Congregate Meal Sites (6 in Mahoning and 4 in Columbiana County) Through the Door Transportation (Mahoning County Only) Transitional Services to assist people of any age to move from a long term

Adult Day Center Our Adult Day Center is designed to enhance
the lives of older adults while promoting their dignityand independence.
All work together to create a fun and varied experience.
Provides meals & activities to meet individual needs.
RN/LPN on staff and physical, occupational and speech therapy available.

Home Delivered Meals

Offered to homebound clients 60 years of age & older in Mahoning & Columbiana Counties.
Meals contain 1/3 of the daily nutritional requirements.
Our meal menu includes seasonal changes.
Some funding is available.

Easterseals offers 10 Congregate Meal sites in Mahoning & Columbiana Counties, for those that are 60 years of age and older.
Each site is managed by a site Supervisor who coordinates the meal services, activities, transportation & trips.
Meals contain 1/3 of the daily nutritional guidelines.
Congregate Meal Sites
Transportation Services
Easterseals offers “through the door” transportation for those 60 years ofage and older living in MahoningCounty.
We transport to our Congregate Meal sites, as well as to medical and social appointments.

Ohio Home Choice Program
Open to Ohioans of any age who are living with disabilities & looking to transition away from long-term care facilities and into a home setting.
Our Social Workers will work with each client to ensure a smooth transition to housing and connect with community services.

Skill Development Center
Serves adults 18 years of age & older with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Developmental Disabilities
Help build life skills, social skills, provides educational and vocational opportunities
Low staff to client ratio to provide individualized program

SuitAbility treatment combines the use of the TheraSuit and Universal Exercise Unit with traditional therapy techniques
The TheraSuit produces improved postural alignment of the body, reduction of harmful pathological reflexes, and improved sensoryawareness
Aquatic Therapy
