THE WHOLE SPORT PLAN
In 2012 46 NGBs of sports submitted whole sport plans to Sport England which detailed how they would use Sport England investment to help them increase the number of people playing their sport once a week and to nurture talent
Sport England has invested and investing in total £493m into 46 sports between 2013 and 2017
“Social inclusion is the process of improving the ability, opportunity, and dignity of people, disadvantaged on the basis of their identity, to take part in society” (The World Bank, 2013)
£815,000 for participation programmes and infrastructure for one year only
IM Basketball (14-25 in education) Ball Again (16+ not in education)
£1.2 million into satellite clubs to encourage more young people into the sport for four years (2013-17)
£1.5 million to support talented players, also for four years

SOCIAL INCLUSION
A further £3.2 million was ring-fenced for the sport of basketball (not awarded to the NGB)
Sport England announced on 23 January 2014 that they were increasing the amount of money they are investing in the other programmes of development of basketball by £2.25 million, taking the total to £9 million:
£1.9 million investment in the British Basketball League Foundation
£418,000 for a pilot project ‘Reach and Teach - Midnight Madness (MM) and London School of Basketball (LSB)
A further £2.8 million remains available to the sport of basketball and other providers will be given an opportunity to bid for this funding.
