FACULTY

Cathy Johnson

Cathy’s experience and her enthusiasm for helping people become more effective have led to an approach to facilitation that produces results. She is passionate about facilitating conversations to cover needed content while

managing group processes in ways that result in full participation and individual growth. Her focus is on helping create the impetus for positive behavior and attitude changes back in the workplace. Cathy uses a range of experiential approaches while inviting participants to shift towards a focus on excellence.

Cathy’s 25 years of international corporate experience has deepened her understanding of and ability to connect with first-line managers to C-suite executives from all functional roles. She is experienced inTalent Development from assessment centers through the design and delivery of strategic development programs for distinct levels within organizations. Cathy also has a special interest and expertise in helping individuals develop their ability to perform well on a global platform as well as creating greater understanding among multi-cultural teams.

As a facilitator, she has designed and delivered programs on a variety of topics, including change management, leadership development, strategy implementation, high-performing teams, handling difficult conversations, performance management, organizational politics, leading remote teams, influencing without authority, presentation effectiveness, stepping up to management, problem-solving and decision making, assertiveness, coaching and employee engagement.

Prior to entering the field of facilitation, design and coaching, Cathy was Head of Marketing for Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL), a leading business-to-business (B2B) media company and a primaryfacilitator of two-way trade with Greater China. She successfully coached teams while gaining experience in eCommerce, project management, IT and magazine publishing. One of her notableachievements was in facilitating greater understanding between the business-side and IT teams, and significantly improving their ability to work together. Before that Cathy developed extensive crossfunctional training programs designed to engage employees, and spent three years in management consulting in the energy industry, focused on organization development.

Cathy moved to Singapore 12-1/2 years ago. She has assisted a number of organizations throughout Asia, including Adidas, Areva, Citibank, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Energy Market Company, Exxon- Mobil, GlaxoSmithKline, Infineum, Perodua, Royal Bank of Scotland, RBS-Coutts, Research In Motion (RIM), Roche, Singapore Airlines, Singapore Institute of Management, Telekom Malaysia, United Bank of Scotland, United Engineering Malaysia, Unilever, Visa and Vitrex. She has worked with people with a wide range of experience, education levels, functional expertise, backgrounds and cultures from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Burma, Taiwan, Singapore,Australia, Pakistan and Japan.

Cathy received a Bachelor of Arts degree (Dean’s List, Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Keenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a Certified Professional Coach with training from New Ventures West, a Certified Transitions Coach with training from Fischer Group International, and is a member of the International Coach Federation. She has MBTI Step I and II and Firo-B accreditations, Thiagi Game Facilitation certification, BlessingWhite certification and she uses DISC™ personality profiling tools extensively.
