TIME: From 12:01 midnight to 12:00 Noon is shown by LIGHTfaced figures and from 12:01 Noon to 12:00 Midnight byHEAVY faced figures. STANDARD TIME is used throughoutthis folder and is referred to as (PT) Pacific Standard Time; (MT)Mountain Standard Time or (CT) Central Standard Time, as thecase may be.

PILLOW SERVICE: As a convenience to chair car passengers,pillows may be rented from your chair car Porter at a charge of25 cents per night.

RESERVATIONS A N D TICKETS: Please make reservations, re-clining chair car or Pullman, well in advance of trip if possibleand purchase transportation before boarding train. Tickets un-used or partly used, will be redeemed under tariff regulationsat proper value, less authorized charges where applicable.

ADJUSTMENT OF FARES: In cases of misunderstanding or dis-agreement with conductors or ticket agents, please pay farerequested securing receipt and communicate details to Directorof Passenger Sales, 526 Mission Street, San Francisco, Calif.94105.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND OF PULLMAN CHARGES:If you change your travel plans, please cancel sleeping, parlorcar or chair car reservations promptly by telephone. To obtainfull refund, sleeping or parlor car space must be cancelled afull day prior to train departure.

MINIMUM TICKET REQUIREMENTS: Minimum number of adultrail tickets required for occupancy of sleeping car space fornight service on California Zephyr: Drawing Room, one and onefourth tickets; Compartment, Bedroom or Roomette, one ticket.

CHECKED BAGGAGE

Baggage must be tendered for checking a minimum of 40 minutesbefore train time.

DEFINITION—Wearing apparel, toilet articles (except liquids) andpersonal effects, necessary and appropriate for personal use ofpassenger on journey. Does not include articles prohibited bytariff, such as money, jewelry, silverware, negotiable papers,and like valuables, liquids, fragile or perishable articles, radios,household goods, etc.

ALLOWANCE—Your baggage, within specific limits, wi l l betransported without additional charge, except for a nominalchecking service charge of 25c per piece of hand baggage and50c per trunk. Allowance for adults is 150 pounds not exceed-ing $100 in value; for children, 75 pounds not exceeding $50in value. On Family Plan tickets up to 300 pounds (not exceed-ing $200.00 in value) is allowed regardless of number ofpersons for which ticket is issued. A charge is made for weightor value in excess of these amounts.Corrugated paper boxes, rope tied, used for personal baggage,must not exceed fifty pounds in weight.

from the following stations: San Francisco, Oakland, Fremont(Niles), Stockton, Sacramento, Marysville, Oroville, Keddie,Portola, Herlong, Gerlach, Winnemucca, Elko, Wendover, SaltLake City, Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs, Denver, Omahaand Chicago.

FREE BAGGAGE CART SERVICE is available at stations in thefollowing cities served by the Western Pacific:

HAND BAGGAGE: Hand baggage in chair cars is restricted tosize, weight and shape that can be conveniently and safelyaccommodated in baggage rack or luggage compartment. GolfBags, Skis, Fishing Rods and other unwieldy items must bechecked for movement in baggage car.

DOGS, CATS or small household pets (other than Guide or Leaderdog) which passengers desire to carry with them in Pullmanspace must be transported by the passenger between San Fran-cisco and Oakland Depot. Our Trans-Bay Motor Coach servicecannot handle these items.

RED CAP SERVICE—SAN FRANCISCO: Passengers departingfrom San Francisco may check their hand baggage directly to out-going space on the California Zephyr.

Passengers destined San Francisco may check their hand baggagefrom their space on the California Zephyr directly to cab standat San Francisco station at a charge of 25c per piece to porteron train.

BAGGAGE PROTECTION: The company's liability for baggageis limited. Like all valuables, your baggage should be protected.Insurance is your best safeguard.St. Paul Fire 8( Marine Insurance Company Policies are avail-able at Western Pacific ticket offices.
