The cause of lupus is unknown, butit has been proven that there is a direct relationship between genes
and early enviromental exposure torisk factors increasing the chance of
the disease’s development.
Lupus is an autoimmune diseasethat can damage any part of your
body.
Lupus is the Latin world for “wolf” and it is common medical lore that the butterfly rash seen on the cheek of many lupus patients is
so similar to the facial markings of a wolf.
Types of Lupus:
• Systemic lupus erythematosus
• Cutaneous lupus erythematosus
• Drug-induced lupus
• Neonatal lupus
