1/6
Greetings to the Troopers, Families, and friends of the
Professionals. The Professionals have had another
exciting month and as always, continue to set the standard
for others to follow.
This month, leaders from across the Battalion and the
BCT came together to participate in a Revolutionary War
battlefield staff ride visiting Kings Mountain, GuildfordCourthouse, and Cowpens. This was a great opportunity to
apply historical lessons learned to today's modern
battlefield while increasing unit camaraderie. In addition,
leaders from the Professionals participated in the BCT ran
Propblast which challenged them both physically and
mentally.
The Professionals also provided a salute battery and
the color guard for the FORSCOM change of command this
month. Members of the Barbarians (Bravo Battery) and
the Hurricanes (HHB) were personally recognized for their
outstanding performance by the Chief of Staff of the Army,
FORSCOM Commander, and the FORSCOM Command
Sergeant Major.
In addition, the Professionals hosted the Division
Retirement Ceremony this month. As always, they
performed superbly and received accolades from the
Division Chain of Command.
We also conducted our Battalion Spring Fling
Party for our Paratroopers and Family members. We
had an outstanding turnout and everyone had a
great time. I again want to thank everyone for their
support in making this event such a great success. Iespecially want to thank Chaplain Jones who
spearheaded the planning efforts along with our
outstanding FRG leaders. Lastly I want to thank all
the Troopers who assisted in the set-up and
tear-down efforts. Everyone's contributions are
greatly appreciated.
Words cannot express how truly honored I am to
have been given the opportunity to command such
an outstanding organization. I am amazed daily by
the technical and tactical competence displayed by
our Paratroopers and their ability to rise to greatness
when called upon.
GO PRO!

Looky here PRO Families this
train has been nonstop at 100mph all
month! You have heard the stories
from your loved ones and felt the
pains of the long days and late nights.
We are not done for this month either,
we have a retirement ceremonyThursday the 28th of March that we
will host for the Division. Good times!
Your Soldiers have been amazing
to say the least, working hard all week
long and then enjoying a couple 4-day
weekends only to come back to carry
the figurative 5lb sack with 10 lbs of
work load.
We are the masters of reacting
to contact with the Brigade, any last
minute taskingsPRO comes thru.
As you will see throughout the PRO-
Gram, many of your loved ones
have been recognized at the
battalion level up to the FORSCOMcommand. We are front page news
for the BCT and that is something to
be proud of and brag about.
Families, sincerely Cindy and I
would like to say thanks for all you
do for this Battalion. There are a
few events coming up and we look
forward to seeing all of you there

Headquarters and Headquarters BatteryHurricanes
Hello from the Hurricanes!
It seems as though the month of March occurred
over just a weeks time span. During this month, the
Battery went to the field for the first time since
re-deploying. Select members of the Battery deployed to
the field to support our brothers in Alpha and Bravo
Battery during Live Fire Exercises and enabled the
Battalion to exercise its digital gunnery capabilities.
Overall, the exercise was a success and set conditions
for the Battalion to conduct more complex digitalmissions in the future. In addition, the Battery continued
to conduct a variety of training in preparation for
upcoming field training exercises (FTX), to include convoy
simulator training, new equipment training on our newly
fielded Q-50 Radar, and supply discipline training.
Congratulations! go out to SPC Mata and SPC Ramos for
graduating from the Warrior Leader Course. Several
Troopers also received the Army Commendation and
Army Achievement Medals for their support to one of our
sister Brigades during a Global Response Force (GRF)
Outload and the Battalions digital training exercise,
respectively.
Lastly, we want to extend our thanks to our newest FRG
volunteers, Abbie Cales, Treasurer, and Ashley Martinus,
Key Caller.

Alpha BatteryAssassins
Family and Friends of The Assassins
March was an outstanding month for the
Assassins. We continue to build on the training events
of previous months and all the hard work and effort of
your Paratroopers is clearly paying off. We spent several
days in the field getting back to our jobs sending
rounds down range. The Battery successfully fired over
700 live rounds during day and night operations.
Following this outstanding training, we turned our focus
to recovery operations so we can ensure our
equipments remains at its operational level. In addition,
we focused on weapon marksmanship, executing aM249 (SAW) and M240B range as well as an M4 zero
and qualification range. Troopers participated in an
orienteering course as we regain our land navigation
skills. We fare welled and welcomed several
outstanding Paratroopers and their Families thanks
and good luck to all those departing and welcome to
the new members of our team! We received
outstanding support from the Battery FRG this month
as well, as we were welcomed back from the field with a
hot meal and baked goods. The FRG meeting at the
Bowling Alley and the Battalion-led Spring Fling rounded
an outstanding month and has us set up for continued
success in April. As always, thank you for your
outstanding love and support for all the men of the
Assassin Battery!

Bravo BatteryBarbarians
Well the months seem to just be ticking away as
Bravo Battery keeps motoring along. During this last
month, the Barbarians have conducting a Battery Live
Fire Exercise to establish and test the capability to
shoot a digital fire mission from sensor (Observer) to
Shooter (Howitzer Crew). This is something that has
not happened in over two years. Upon returning from
the field the Battery had to get polished up to provide
an artillery salute for the Chief of Staff of the Army,
Gen Raymond Odierno, during his visit for the
FORSCOM Relinquishment of Command Ceremony.
Due to the hard work and dedication of the Troopers
of Bravo Battery, we were able to execute this salute
to the highest standard and even received praise from
Gen Odierno, the highest ranking Artilleryman in the
Army. On the family front we have tried to have
maximum family time this month, in preparation for
the upcoming Intensive Training Cycle. During this
month the Spouses of the Barbarians, we able to bond
during their Girls Night Out while we were most
recently out in the field. The Battery also had a well
attended Battery FRG Meeting, a Battery Family Fun
Day, and the Battalion Spring Fling. ALL THE WAY!

Golf CompanyGrizzlies
Greetings from Team Grizzly!Grizzly Family, I want to thank everyone for
your support this month. We had a great
turn-out for both the Company FRG meeting as
well as the Battalion Spring Fling. I am very
excited to see the new volunteers come
onboard and our program beginning to build
momentum. The Spring Fling Pie in the Face
and Easter basket raffles were great fund
raisers and have given us a great help in
bettering our FRG. The money raised will give
us a solid base to work off of as we continue to
fundraise and strengthen our group. I look
forward to the next opportunity for all of us to
come together, have some fun, and celebrate
as a Family. As for upcoming training, the
month of April will be a very busy time for us as
we enter our Intensive Training Cycle and we
will need all the support we can get. Again,
thank you for your great work.

Chaplains CornerSpring has now officially arrived and
even though its only 25 degrees in
the morning, we have hope that great
weather is just around the corner. You
may have noticed buds on the trees,
lilies popping up in your yard and the
sun brightening the day just as bit
longer than it did a few weeks ago.
Its a great time of year!
Spring is a time of new beginnings.
Easter is just around the corner and
while its a holiday season that brings
out many fun traditions and family
events, for many people of faith this is
a season of celebrating the hope
found in the resurrected Savior. So,
as you enjoy the gorgeous days
leading to summer, think about and
apply the true hope found in the
resurrection and have a wonderful
Easter and Spring break.

FRSA CornerArmy guidance stipulates that
certain FRG activities are
essential. The type and scope
of activities depends on a large
number of factors, including:
-Commanders budget for FRG
mission activities
-Identified needs of unit
Soldiers, civilian employees,
and their families
-Command interest and
emphasis number of FRG
members
-Time, energy, and creativity of
FRG membership
-Makeup of the FRG (e.g., the
percentage of single Soldiers,
number of years Soldiers and
their family have served withthe military.)
