Establish the University of Nairobi as a hub of expertise for Education in Emergencies (EiE) in the East Africa region and the Horn
Develop capacity of University to train education personnel, influence policy, conduct research, & test innovations

◦education managers in various education sectors, INGO’s, local NGO’s, primary and secondary school teachers, and teacher trainers
They could be curriculum implementers and developers, policy formulators and teacher trainers

Students carry out research in various emergency contexts and phases .
Peace and conflict is a major area of research among our students ie Kibera, IDP’S in Naivasha, Molo, Tana River, Marsabit, Isiolo
