Happy New Year to all!
Welcome back everyone to this New Year and this wel-
come comes with special wishes for health and happiness
from all Staff and Governors at Jackfield Infant School.
We hope that you enjoyed the Christmas festivities and
time spent with your family—we have heard lots of stories
about Santa and parties, Magic Keys to unlock the door,
Christmas dinners and special days. The children have
kept us very entertained this week.
Many thanks to you all for the cards, gifts and Christmas
wishes given to Staff and this includes myself. We are
very appreciative of your kindness.
We look forward to the year ahead and sharing lots of ex-
citing events with you.
Very Best Wishes
Dawn Shaw and everyone at Jackfield Infant School
Celebrating Kindness Week—To celebrate the kindness of our
children at Jackfield Infant School, we have planned some

Nursery Targets
To recognise numbers to 5.
To remember to pick up toys, books off the floor and put them in
the correct place when playing in our Nursery.
Happy New Year to all our Nursery parents we hope that you have
had a lovely Christmas. All the Nursery staff are very proud of
how settled the children have been this week. All the children
have worked hard to remember and follow our Nursery rules.
WELL DONE!!!
We still have some nativity photographs that were not bought, if
you would still like the photograph of your child in their nativity
costume please see a member of staff. Photographs are £1.
All parents should have received a letter requesting a pair of wel-
lington boots and information about our visit to Burslem Park next
week. Please see a member of staff for any further details.
We have started our PE sessions again so could you please ensure
that your child's FULL PE kit is in their bag. (They will need
shorts, t-shirt and a pair of PE pumps).
We would also like to welcome Mrs Machin to our Nursery who will
be taking the place of Mrs Davies during her maternity leave ab-
sence.

Snowy Weather
Our policy is to remain open as long as it is safe for the children and the staff.
If there is a problem we will contact Radio Stoke & Signal Radio as soon as possible. If the snowfall happens during school opening hours please contact the school office on telephone number 234450 to find out the current situa-tion. In cold weather we may allow the children to go out to play for a very short time if we feel this is appropriate. Please ensure that the children have warm clothes with them each day. Thank you for you co-operation.
No Smoking
The school and the playground are no smoking zones. In the interests of our children, we ask parents to respect this policy.
No Jewellery In School Policy
Can I remind parents that it is school policy that no children wear jewellery including earrings at any time in school. The Governors have agreed that this policy is in the interests of the safety of our children. Parents are asked to respect this policy.
50p Class Donations
For many years parents have regularly donated 50p to the child’s class to support class activities. The children are involved in moni-toring the income and expenditure of the ‘Class Bank’! We value this contribution immensely. If you can make a contribution please send it to school with your child in a purse or envelope clearly marked—50p donation.
After School Fun Clubs—2013
All After School Fun Clubs will begin in the new Spring term, week beginning Monday 21st January. You will be informed of your child’s Fun Club on Monday 14th January, by letter.
After School Readers
Key Stage 1 children who attend the after school reading sessions, Monday to Thursday 3.00—3.30pm, have already started their sessions for this term. For any further information please ask your child’s class teacher.
Parent & Toddler Group and Playgroup—2013
Parent & Toddler and Playgroup sessions have begun again.
Ragtex Collection—Friday 18th January
If you are clearing out your cupboards or wardrobes—please fill a plastic sack with any of your old clothes, paired shoes, handbags, blankets, sheets, curtains and soft toys. Donating your clothing will raise funds for our school and help to clothe people in developing countries. A sticky label will be sent home for you to stick on your bag.
