Our Mission: To Make Disciples of Jesus
Christ for the Transformation of the World
Our Vision: A Community of Hope for
The Messenger
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you”
(Psalm 37:5)
Pastor’s Reflections
Committed to Christ
The heart of every team, the heart of every journey, the heart of every relationship is driven by commitment to a vision. Throughout scripture, Jesus is inviting his followers to be committed to His mission. Commitment is one of the core ingredients needed in order to accomplish our goals. As the Olympics begin, I believe each participant has committed to giving their best by preparing and now is ready to go with passion.
Our commitment will be tested in many ways. However, it is valuable to hold fast to what we are committed to. In the same way Jesus is calling each of us to be fully committed to his work by loving and serving others. The psalmist says, “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you” (Psalm 37:5). Throughout the month of August we will be focusing on the theme: “Committed to Christ”.
It is important to be reminded that we are about the mission of Jesus, and how it is rewarding to follow and be completely committed to him. How is your level of commitment to your family, work, relationship and church? May the grace of God help us and renew us in serving Christ’s church. May God bless and keep you.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Eric Sayonkon

Prayer for a New School Year
Lord, please bless all our teachers,
friends and relatives as they make
their way back to their classrooms
for another year. Help them to feel excitement and joy in the
promise of a new start. Give them everything they need to
start their classes. Give them all they need all year. Give
them imagination and creativity. Help them have just the
right words of encouragement for each student. Let this be a
truly wonderful year for everyone involved in
education. Let everyone feel safe, and gracious at the end of
the year, that they learned all they could and gave the best
they had in the love of Jesus Christ. Amen
