THE MAGIC HANKY

I’M JUST A LITTLE HANKYAs square as square can be

But with a stitch or twoThey make a bonnet out of me

I’ll be worn from the hospitalOr on my christening day

Then I’ll be carefully pressedAnd neatly put away.

Then on the wedding dayAt least this is what I’m told

Every well-dressed brideMust have something old.

So what would be more fittingThen to find little ‘ole me

A few stitches snippedAnd a wedding hanky I’ll be

If perchance it is a boySomeday he will surely wed

So to his bride he can presentThe hanky he once wore upon his head.

LOVE TO YOU BABY
