“On your mark, get set, GO!” The cars start with gravitational potential energy which transfers into kinetic energy as they race down the track.

They proceed to knock the “Lever o’ Doom” transferring their energy (while losing energy in the process) to the dominoes at the top of the model.

Page 4: The Lift o’ Doom

Gravitational energy is then transferred into kinetic energy as the dominoes fall on top of one another until they reach the infamous “Popsicle Sticks o’ Doom”.

The popsicle sticks, once struck by the dominoes, will hit the mouse trap, loaded with heaps of elastic potential energy.

The mouse trap tags the “Dominoes Box o’ Doom”, loaded with potential energy as well, just so it will tip down the “Slippery Slope o’ Doom”.

Page 5: The Lift o’ Doom

The dominoes box slides slowly down the slope until it tips over the edge of the table. The box will then hit a chair or object of choice until the mass has reached its destination.

If all goes according to plan, the dominoes box should hit a gumball, transferring kinetic energy, until it reaches its final destination… a “Pup n’ Suds” team member’s hand (or stomach).

extra support. Making sure the pendulum

would actually swing and hit the dominoes.

Making sure the dominoes box would lift the mass in ten seconds.

In conclusion, the transfer of gravitational to kinetic to elastic potential energies allowed the 1 kg. mass to be lifted to its final destination.

Although energy was lost along the way, the “Lift o’ Doom” will still be available for purchase from a Team Pup n’ Suds member…
