Ojibwe PrayerOh Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds And whose breath gives life to everyone, Hear me. I come to you as one of your many children; I am weak... I am small...I need your wisdom and your strength. Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunsets. Make my hands respect the things you have made, and make my ears sharp so I may hear your voice. Make me wise, so that I may understand what you have taught my people and The lessons you have hidden in each leaf and each rock. I ask for wisdom and strength, Not to be superior to my brothers, but to be able to fight my greatest enemy, myself. Make me ever ready to come before you with clean hands and a straight eye, So as life fades away as a fading sunset, My spirit may come to you without shame.

Our family is a circle of strength and love…With every birth and every union the circle grows…Every joy shared adds more love…Every crisis faced togethermakes the circle grow stronger.
What is a Warrior
A Warrior is the protector of
his family, clan and his tribe
A Warrior is the guardian of the
old ways so that they are not
forgotten
A Warrior is not motivated by
greed, political ambition or
fame
A Warrior will not put himself
above others in need
And above all
A Warrior is the living spirit of
our Grandfathers

Our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family. Most of us would give our own life for the survival of a family member, yet we lead our daily life too often as if we take our
family for granted. ~Paul Pearshall
There's no other love like the love for a brother. There's no other love like the love
from a brother. ~Terri Guillemets
Uncle: of all my favorite happy
times so special to recall, the
times we've spent together are my
most cherished of all.
You have noticed that everything as Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the Power of the World always works in circles, and everything tries to be round..... The Sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind, in its greatest power, whirls. Birds make their nest in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours....Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves.

“I love my mother, not as a prisoner of atherosclerosis, but as a person; and I must love her enough to accept her as she is, now, for as long as this dwindling may take.
” ~ Madeleine L Engle
The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my
family. ----THOMAS JEFFERSON
"The Family is the Country of the heart. There is an angel in the Family who, by the mysterious influence of grace, of sweetness, and of love, renders the fulfillment of duties less wearisome, sorrows less bitter. The only pure joys unmixed with sadness
.”
“To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other’s hearts. We share
private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family grief's and joys. We live outside the touch of time.” ~Clara Ortega
Our brothers and sisters are there with us from the dawn of our personal stories to the
inevitable dusk. ~Susan Scarf Merrell

“I looked out the car window today and I’m realizing that I miss you again. It’s funny how out of nowhere you came to mind. The truth is,
I wish you were still here.” ~Unknown
