Creating Community Through People, Parks and Programs
Greetings! Wow, I can’t believe it is already November! Before we know, it will be the Holidays! This issue of The Scoop is loaded with activities to enjoy such as our first “Friendsgiving Lunch” to celebrate one another and to be grateful for life’s many blessings! We will have a special Crafting with Grandchildren on a Saturday morning to make holiday ornaments. November This and That program takes the mystery out of financial jargon for a better understanding of our investments. Of course, we will once again collaborate with S.O.S. for the Giving Tree and holiday wrapping party. We will mix things up for our Holiday Party with entertainment, singing Christmas carols, hors d’ oeuvres, desserts and refreshments. I am looking forward to see you all dressed up for this fun, festive event!Happy Holidays! Sherry
The Giving TreeThe Giving Tree will soon be up in the lobby. We will again be collaborating with S.O.S. (Springdale Offering Support) to provide gifts for less fortunate families within our community. We will decorate the tree with ornaments listing a gift wish on the back. If you would like to participate, select an ornament, sign it out at the front desk, purchase the item, and return it unwrapped with the ornament attached to the Springdale Community Center by Monday, December 2. We appreciate everyone’s generosity. We ask you to only purchase the item listed. If you cannot locate the item, please feel free to exchange the ornament. If you would like to add to your own gift, you may choose to purchase a gift
card from an area merchant. We will have a wrapping party for the gifts on Wednesday, December 4 at 1 pm. Please let us know if you can help. If you have any questions, call 346-3910.
Holiday PartyWednesday, December 18, 12:00 p.m.
Come into a winter wonderland and celebrate the holidays with hors d’oeuvres, salads, breads, and a variety of dessert offerings to bring on the season! Listen to Blue Chip Duo play your favorite Holiday songs. You will want to join in and sing along to “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Christmas Bells,” “Silent Night,” “Angels We Have Heard on High“ to name a few. Feel free to wear that special outfit and get ready for a photo op! Cost is Members $8.50 Non-Members $10.00. Be sure to register at the front desk or by calling 346-3910 no later than Monday, December 16.
