CANTEEN NEWS
A big thank you goes out to Tracey for assisting me
through the transition into my role as canteen co-
ordinator for the rest of the year. I am keen to keep
the canteen running as it has been and hope
through the support of parents and students this
will happen.
If you can volunteer your time even for one day a
term it would be hugely appreciated. Just give me a
call on 0421100893.
On todays gazette is an updated price list. We will
no longer be offering meal deals and spaghetti bolo-
gnaise. Chicken nuggets will continue, however once
stock has been depleted they will be removed from
the menu. I am sorry if this causes any inconven-
ience.
New menu items will be coming in next term so
watch this space….
An updated canteen roster is also attached to to-
days gazette, please check to see what days you are
on and if you can’t make it on that day then please
let me know on 0421100893 and I will do my best to
work out a replacement or a swap for your day.
Thank you to everyone who supports our school
canteen and to all our amazing volunteers.
The profit the canteen makes goes straight back into
our school.

Surprise ‘Spooky’ Performance
On Wednesday, 10th August 2016, K/1 travelled by bus
to the Leeton Eisteddfod.
Before K/1 went to Leeton, we practised ‘Ghost of Tom’
with Miss Jefferis and Mrs Kenny. We all ate our yum-
my fruit and recess then boarded the Colinroobie Bus.
K/1 performed on stage at the beautiful old Roxy Thea-
tre. We scared the adjudicator by saying “Boo!” at the
very end of our song. Our singing was so good we were
awarded first place and brought home an awesome
trophy which is now in the front office at school. We
each received a blue ribbon at assembly.
After our great performance, we ate lunch at the Park.
It was fun playing on the big long red slide, the smaller
purple slide, the flying fox, the climbing wall and the
bouncing lady bug, plane, bee and grasshopper.
Even though we were all very tired coming home on
the bus, we enjoyed singing on stage.
K/1
Here is the
Buzzz…
congratula-
tions to all
students, you
were all well
prepared and
happy to meet the challenge. Year 5/6 were particularly
impressive, never before have an entire class nominated
to take on the Premier’s List. Great effort!
Senior Premier’s Champions – Nace Borland and Char-
lotte Rainbird – 3rd Jane Haeusler, 4th Ruby Male. After 6
rounds of rigorous spelling it took 3 rounds of unseen
words for our final two spelling champions to emerge.
Nace and Charlotte will represent B.C.S in Griffith in Sep-
tember.
Junior Premier’s Champion – Clancy Male and Riley Cur-
ran- 3rd Eli Koerper, 4th Ashley Robertson. Five rounds of
high competition obedient and nautical where the words
to take Clancy and Riley through to the Regional Final.
Principal’s Champions-Madison Davies, Bianca Spowart –
3rd Dominic Snaith, 4th Marian Davies.
Year 1 / 2 Champions – Ronan Murphy, Lily Curran – 3rd
Dakota Smith, 4th Connor Irvin. To establish the winners
our spellers went to 3 / 4s word list.
Thank you to all parents who came along to cheer on the
spellers and to all family members who helped navigate
through the lists over the last few weeks. It was evident
that students had worked hard to be confident and pre-
pared.
WANTED!
Our Junior STEM classes (Years 4,5,6) will soon be designing, building and launching bottle rockets. We would greatly appreciate any empty 1.25L
and 2L plastic soft drink bottles for these projects. Bottles can be dropped off at in the box located outside the front office
