Letter from The EG Chairmen
Thank you for your support of The Enterprise Group in 2016. Your investment
in the Imagine Jackson 2020 campaign has enabled our staff and volunteers to
work with Jackson area business and community leaders to encourage
investment, and create and retain jobs, that will have a positive impact on our
local economy for years to come.
The Enterprise Group Board adopted the Imagine Jackson 2020 plan with an
aggressive goal of assisting in the creation of 1,500 jobs over the course of the
five year plan. As you can see from the enclosed 2016 annual update, the EG
staff assisted over 50 clients who have made commitments to create 650 new
jobs and invest over $88 million in Jackson County. Thanks to the health of our
area businesses, our unemployment rate dropped to nearly 4% and there are
almost 70,000 people employed in Jackson County.
The EG would not be in a position to support this business growth and
expansion without your investment in our five year initiative. We would
welcome your input or any questions or comments you might have about our
efforts or the enclosed information.
Again, thank you for your generous support!
Sincerely,
Dan Phelan Jason Sanders

Spotlight on Airmaster Fan Company Airmaster Fan Company’s history originates in 1886 as the first electrical fan was patented by the Diehl
Fan Company. During the next hundred years, Airmaster acquired the Chelsea, Brundage and Power
Line Fan companies and marketed each brand separately. To streamline operations, sales and marketing
of circulation/ventilation products were consolidated in 2002 to one name, Airmaster Fan Company.
In 2013, Airmaster was purchased by another family business from Germany, the Maico group. The
Maico group is a globally recognized leader in ventilation products and they are known for their product
quality, reliability and reputation. Maico also brings additional new market opportunity, fan innovation and
product expertise to Airmaster.
Under new leadership, Benjamin Braitsch, the new President of Airmaster, worked closely with EG Staff
for site relocation assistance, and to discuss expansion plans to accommodate their growth. In 2016,
Airmaster, and their 30 existing employees, moved across town to the former American Corrugated
facility at 9229 S. Meridian Road on US 127 in Columbia Township. EG Staff collaborated and led the
effort with Consumers Energy and Comcast to ensure internet service was provided to their new location.
Thanks to Airmaster Fan Company for their investment!
“From finding a new location to making sure we were finally connected to High-Speed internet, The EG
was a top-notch economic development team connecting all the dots for us. Without The EG’s support,
we would not have been able to push this project as much as we did. Their efforts helped us look forward
to completing our move on time without any extra expenses.” Benjamin Braitsch, President & CEO
