The Department of Forestry and Natural Resources Honors Dr. Anthony S. Davis as a 2017 Purdue University Distinguished Agriculture Alumnus
Dr. Anthony Davis’ interest in forestry and environmental conservation began in his home province of New Brunswick where he received a B.S. in Forestry at the University of New Brunswick. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Forestry at Purdue University. In support of his Ph.D. degree, Anthony was named Purdue’s first van Eck graduate scholar.
After graduation from Purdue Dr. Davis joined the faculty in the Department of Forest, Rangeland and Fire Sciences at the University of Idaho with appointments in research, extension, teaching, and administration. Dr. Davis served as Director of the Center for Forest Nursery and Seedling Research, an integrated teaching, research, and outreach program. In 2013, Dr. Davis was named the Tom Alberg and Judi Beck Chair in Natural Resources, the first endowed chair at the University of Idaho. Dr. Davis was recently named Professor and Associate Dean for Research in the College of Forestry and Oregon State University.
For his exceptional career achievements and noteworthy ability, the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources is pleased to honor our alumnus, Dr. Anthony S. Davis, as a 2017 Distinguished Agriculture Alumnus.

Dr. Davis is a HTIRC graduate student. He received his MS degree in 2003 and his PhD degree in 2006. Dr. Douglass F. Jacobs was Dr. Davis’ professor for both degrees. We are very proud and happy that Dr. Davis was chosen as one of the Purdue University Distinguished Agriculture Alumnus. Below are some pictures for this event.
