CHAPTER PROJECT
2020 - 2021
Caps for Grads
The Alpha Mu Chapter Project for 2020 - 2021 is Caps for Grads! The chapter will
raise funds to provide caps and gowns for BISD female students who do not have the
money to purchase their own graduation cap and gown. This project will enable
qualifying low-income students to participate in their high school graduation
ceremonies. The scope of this project will depend on two factors: the number of
eligible students and the chapter project funds available to assist these graduates. Our
chapter will be coordinating this project with the senior counselor at the selected local
high school. The high school selected for the 2020-2021 year is Gladys Porter High
School. The estimated cost of the graduation regalia per student is $45.

COLLECT
Omniscient Father of the Universe,
God of Truth, Beauty and Justice;
We thank Thee for the intellectual bond
Which exalts the achievement of people.
As we promote understanding and critical thinking,
May we practice good fellowship and release our capabilities,
May we gain in inward poise and appreciation of Beauty;
As we discipline self, may we sponsor
Meaningful attitudes and Justice among all peoples.
Day by day, as we plant the seed of enlightenment,
May we reap Faith and Vision.
Grant us these ideals in greater measure,
We ask in Jesus' name.
Amen

THE DELTA KAPPA GAMMA SONG
Women teachers, to the calling
Firmly rally, never falling,
Duty ne'er upon us palling,
Staunch, courageous we!
Loyalty and trust e'er heeding,
Mindful of our sisters needing,
Aid and guidance from those leading,
Helpful may we be!
To Delta Kappa Gamma
Faith we pledge forever!
Hand in hand our loyal band,
Forward, moving ever!
Onward! 'tis our sisters need us,
Courage, Faith and Honor lead us!
Wrongs in truth and justice heed us!
Firmly shall we stand!
Guardians of the Faith yet sleeping
For our sisters watch e'er keeping,
Deeds of others now we're reaping,
We for others stand!
To us pioneers have given;
We return their gifts to Heaven,
Work for others is the leaven
That inspires our band!
Oh, Delta Kappa Gamma,
In thy fold we gather;
Unity and Liberty
Shall be our watchwords ever!
Education e'er we'll further;
Each is bound to each as brother,
With this faith in one another
We shall win, for aye! Annie Webb Blanton
