• Over 25 million people died from this disease.
• It started in China and ended up in Asia and Europe.
• The black death happened in 1348.

• You get huge boils (buboes)
• The buboes start to bleed
• Septicemic plague is the stronger version
• The pneumonic is caught by breathing in.
How many did it kill
The black death claimed 25 million deaths.
About 2 million every year
Actually it killed over 200 million but the first time it was seen was in the black death.
Can we get it today?
• Yes, about ten to twenty get it in the U.S.A.
• From infection to death less than 1 week.
• We have a cure but it doesn't always work.
