A webQuest for 9 th grade BiologyBy Camron Macon
THE BEST VACATION EVER!!
You are a struggling travel agent, and you haven’t brought in any clients in a long time. At the weekly meeting your boss told you and 3 other employees that he has to cut 2 jobs, and whoever makes the best travel brochure and gets a client to come to their vacation spot will get the job.
You must thoroughly research each biome gathering important facts that travelers would want to know (Environment, Tourist Attractions, Locations/travel).
INTRODUCTION
You will create a very detailed and descriptive brochure that is attractive, and creative enough to make someone want to pick up, read, and desire to visit.
TASK
1. You will receive a blank data collection table to compile your gathered information from your teacher.
Data Collection Table
2. First you will visit this website in order to gather information such as: Environment (climate, rainfall, Seasons), Wildlife (types of plants and animals), Tourist attractions (fun activities, sports, views),Special Interest (specific characteristics only found in that Biome (be creative, think about what things people could do only in your place).

3. After you have filled in the information on the table, then you and your partner will choose a specific biome to use.
PROCESS
4. Once you both agree on a biome, then create a name for your vacation spot (What words could you use in order to make your place sound attractive and interesting?) 5. Check out these l inks in order to help with creating a brochure

After visiting the provided links, and gathering information about the World’s Biomes you should have a solid understanding of the characteristics of each biome. You should have also learned persuasive designing skills that were used to create the brochure. After learning and using some persuasive techniques in order to grab the attention of potential consumers, think of two types of advertisements that use similar tactics. (EX. Websites, Postcards, etc.)When you have finished this project go to one of your favorite products website and1. record 3 ways in which they try to persuade you to give
them your business. 2. Tell whether you used those techniques, and if they
would have worked for your brochure?
