The undersigned had nothing to do with furnishing music for the dance the night of May 28th, and I have not spoken to the band boys about the dance whatever. The accusation that I had prevented the band from playing that night is unfounded and the blame for not having the dance that night must be placed with someone else.
Respectfully,Theo Henske(Advertisement)

Fritz Heitzman and H.F. Brandt of Kenney were in Bellville Friday on business. While here they made this office a pleasant call and from them we learn that farmers in the Kenney neighborhood are in need of rain. It seems that a good rain would be welcomed everywhere at this time, particularly so for the corn crop.

The development of a great oil field in Austin County in the future seems almost inevitable. With the proper prosecution of the apparently rich, but as yet undeveloped oil resources of Austin County, startling revelations will be made in due time –but this cannot happen
without much effort on the part of am enterprising people.

team beat New Ulm 9-3. Bellville had 10 hits. Foehner, Jahnke and Schauerhammer all had two and Wilson, Johnson and Hellmuth all had one. McCraw had the lone New Ulm hit.
