ell, the move is on at Robby’sNursery. Here’s an update onour progress and some thoughtson “progress.”
We are embarking on quite anadventure that is not totally welcome at thispoint in our lives. In our wildest dreams wenever thought we would be moving, again.
But, here we go!As most of you have come to know our
property has been purchased for the roadproject at Allen and Hageman roads. We arenow in the complex predicament of movingwhile running an ongoing business — all thewhile dealing with the government and roadconstruction schedules.
Sounds like fun? NOT!That being said, we are taking each day as
it comes and dealing with each new chal-lenge the best we can.
Robby’s is having a big moving sale at thepresent time. Lots of good deals and, hope-fully, less to carry across the road.
Our new location will be about 300 yardsto the south of our current spot at 13129Hageman Road.
The whole project is confusing but we do
have a map postedat the nursery toexplain what’s tak-ing place. We willhave ample sig-nage once we havemoved to guideyou to our newlocation.
Next week thenew cul-de-sac isscheduled to beginconstruction foraccess to the allnew Robby’s Nurs-ery & Calico Gar-dens. We’vealready moved
Robby’s Bonsai collection to its new homeand have begun work on the new building. We are praying for some “signed plans” outof the county soon, as well.
All this, while remaining optimistic thatour new location can continue to serve andinspire our customers. We plan to remainopen during our transition period. Come outand check out our progress.
As we walk along this path of change weare excited by the thought of being able tocreate a new nursery. That being said, theprocess of dealing with the obstacles thrownour way have been quite trying and can feelquite unfair. some of our despair is probablythat we have no clue as to how to deal withgovernment, new codes and ever changingschedules. Most of this process has notmade much sense — nor felt very good —but we will push on and take each day as itcomes.
While dealing with all these problems, itseems rumors of us closing are not helpingour struggle. Well, I’m here to tell you we aremoving — and Bah Humbug to the skeptics. That being said, our loyal customers havestood by us through this hard time — and wehave had a great year so far.
This long standing, family-owned businessis not done yet. Our 49th year will NOT beour last!
God willing, our grand opening will behappen just in time for the Holidays 2011 totop off this most interesting of all our years!
Changes are coming and we are ready!
