the April 10 fundraiser. Dessertwill be $2 for a pie, cake, or cook-ie plate.
Aside from the food, people willbe able to enjoy entertainmentprovided by Jammin Island Hulaand Roamin Reptiles. The showbegins at 5:15 p.m. (and peoplewill love these families that havedonated their hula to help others.)The group recently performed forseniors for Valentine's Day andstole hearts! This class also madeheart leis for all our grandmoth-
ers and grandfathers in atten-dance.
After the hula presentation,families will also enjoy some dearfriends, the Roaming Reptiles,who will be showcasing someinteresting creatures as they edu-cate attendees about some of fel-low earthly neighbors.
The whole family is sure tohave a great time! Together wewill have some good food, greatfun, and be the difference in thelife of a child. Mahalo Nui!

Sacramento State’s woman’s varsity eight, sec-ond varsity eight, novice eight, varsity fourand second varsity four were all victorious intheir respective races recently at theSacramento State Rowing Invitational on
Lake Natoma in Folsom, Calif.Highland High School graduate, Jessica Smith,
rows for Sacramento State’s varsity eight and varsityfour teams.
Along with the Hornets, the Sacramento StateInvitational included crews from Humboldt State,Saint Mary's, Cal Lightweights, Santa Clara, Pacific,Sonoma State, UC San Diego and Mills College.
The Hornets competed in seven races during theday, and four of the five first-place boats won theirraces by open water. Of the two entries that didn’tplace first, each of those boats finished among thetop three, including the novice four (second place)
and cox4 (third place). Each of the high finishescame despite a number of Sacramento State rowersdoubling up and competing in two different races. Inaddition, the team's top boat (varsity eight) compet-ed with four underclassmen, comprised of sopho-mores Antonia Dendrinos and JessicaSmith(Highland High), and freshmen NnekaAnyanwu, and Michelle Evers.
In the varsity eight competition, Sacramento Statefinished with a 2,000-meter winning time of 6:55.4,followed by Saint Mary's (6:57.6) and HumboldtState (7:03.9) to round out the top three in the five-boat field.
The varsity four posted a winning time of 7:43.5,followed by Humboldt State A (7:52.2) and SaintMary's (8:08.1) to round out the top three in a seven-boat field. In the second varsity four race, theHornets were 5.8 seconds faster than the next clos-est boat.
