The AHi is a Non Profit Company (NPC) The AHi is funded through:
Membership fees from affiliated chambers, affiliated corporate members and donors.
Receives no funding from government. The AHi is registered for tax purposes as a

The AHi is internationally recognised as one of Africa’s leading business networks.
The AHi is recognised on the continent of Africa as one of South Africa’s leading business networks.
The AHi is nationally recognised as one of South Africa’s leading business networks and serves on the board of BUSA.
The AHi works held a combined memorial service for the lateTata Madiba on Wednesday 11 December 2013 in collaboration with the BBC and BUSA.
The AHi is a highly functional National Business Network Platform consisting of 110 business chambers, approximately 20 000 business members (corporate,
medium, small an Employers’ Association) with an average turnover of >R3 million to >R1 billion annually and 500 volunteers driving the national and provincial council,
specialist committees and business chambers of the AHi.
PROFILE The AHi is also held in high esteem by corporate South
Africa for the 450 to 500 AHi and affiliated chamber network sessions held annually at local, provincial and national level.
The AHi’s events programme entails network evenings, provincial and national board workshops, provincial and national conferences, business chamber workshops.
The AHi is also regarded by International Donors, Corporate South Africa, South African Government and State Departments such as the DTi and CoGTA as highly efficient in terms of transfer of skills, the development of a new cadre of entrepreneurs and
assisting struggling municipalities with financial and other expertise.
The AHi has a formal agreement with CoGTA and is an active contributor to the Progressive Business Forum’s monthly magazine.
The AHi’s Entrepreneurship Development Programme has impacted on 500 aspiring and young entrepreneurs since 2011.

STRUCTURES
AHi National Council: Policy Direction Board of Directors: Provides strategic direction and an
oversight role in terms of operational activities of the AHi Chief Executive Officer: Day to day management. Specialist Committees: LED; Tourism; SMME; Women
/Youth; SEB; Training; Industrial AHi Provincial Council: Represents the business chambers
form each province. AHi Employers’ Organisation: Acts on behalf of members
in labour disputes before the CCMA Business Chambers: Active at local level to unite business
people and to advance the local economy. SA Council for Business Women (SACBW): Represents
women affairs, Board of Trustees: Is a strategic think tank and serves
Council with advice.
GOVERNANCE
The AHi is guided by a Code of Ethics to ensure sound corporate governance,
accountability and a consistent declaration of interests.
The AHi also maintains high standards of sound financial management to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation, which is subject to an independent audit
annually.

range of products and services provided by the AHi and to become part of the AHi referral network.
