AHEPA NewsAHEPA Day will be observed on Sunday, May 5th with a memorial and artoclasia sponsored by the Stockton AHEPA family. Each year, in each city and country, the AHEPA family honors the legacy of compassion and service to community. We continue to be servants of God, leaders in our par-ishes and ministries of the Church and use the strength and mission of Ahepa to meet the vital needs around the world through social services, programs and scholarships. The Stockton AHEPA Family will be hosting the 87th annual District Convention to be held at the Stockton Hilton on June 14-16. I have attached information as individual events are open to the public. We are also looking for families or businesses to place ads in the convention ad book where proceeds will go towards our local and national projects. These include the Renovation of the Boy’s Dorm at St. Nicholas Ranch, Limbitless Solutions, Dogs for Warriors project and McHenry House. We hope our St. Basil family will show their support!See Flier towards the end of this issue!
P.J. Rishard and Sofia Agronovich visited our beloved parishioners and presented them with Easter basket prepared by the Philoptochos Society.
Philoptochos Christ is Risen!

Geronda, When someone changes his way of life, should he attempt to correct the thoughts others had about him before? "He should not try to change thoughts of others in a proud way; he will try first to correct himself and then the thoughts of others will be corrected or removed on their own. If the stigma of his past sinful life remains in society or in his narrow circle, this will be erased in time by his good behavior. There is no need to talk about it at all. Through his sincere repentance, God will speak."-St Paisios Volume III pg 188

ANGEL BABIES MINISTRY
Angel Babies recently had their last work party on April 16 at the Church Hall. We were able to get a lot done by tearing down wedding garments (into fabric and lace) to get cleaned. We were recently able to donate a gown to Father Pete’s family. This unfortunate miscarriage of Father’s Godson’s wife, allowed us to assist them in properly bonding and properly burying their child. Angel Babies had their last group meeting at the Stockton-Hilton on February 23rd in which we were able to discuss plans for spring and summer months. Also, we will begin to work on Christmas stockings this summer. Next meeting dates: May 21st, June 18th, and July 16th. We are always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please call either Patty Manuse at (209) 337-5401 or Deana Mariani at (209) 406-2066.Also, donations are always welcomed; either notions or fabric or a monetary gift is appreciated.

Spring & Summer 2019 By Tammy Hamilton-Williams
Where do the days go? Seems as if we were just greeting the new little ones and already we are planning for sum-mer and the start of our new school year. Yes, it still is a few months away, but this is the last time you will be get-ting an article from me until September!
I am so pleased with the work we have done with our little students.
I love hearing them sing “Heaven is a Wonderful Place” as they leave Chapel every week. I appreciate both Father Pete and Matthew’s understanding and tolerance the weeks they all seem to have “ants in their pants” and wiggle through chapel time.
My staff amazes me weekly with their creative crafts and enriching themes. I love it when parents share that their child wakes up on Saturday wanting to come to school.
One of my favorite stories is from a Mom who has had her daughters in our school for consecutive years. They are moving out of the area and must make other child care arrangements for the youngest child starting this summer. Mommy told me she knows her kids are well cared for and loved and SECURE here at St. Basil. Her heart hurts she may not feel that with the new school.
Another parent recently told me after she drops her child off each day, she does not think about her until pick up time. She knows there is no reason to worry. Since this Mommy is a doctor, I am sure her patients appreciate her focus!
I truly appreciate these accolades and always share with my staff. After all, THEY ARE THE BEST here on the WEST!
Thank you, dear friends, for your kind words of support, and loving smiles as I pass you in the halls of St. Basil Church.
You are all what makes this ministry so very special!
