Ingredients:
• 120 g soft light brown sugar• 150 g white sugar• 200 g margarine or butter• 2 eggs• 5 ml hot water• 180 g white flour• 5 ml salt• 5 ml baking soda• 150 g chocolate chips• 120 g chopped walnuts• 5 ml vanilla• 180 g oatmeal
Method:• Turn the oven on to heat to
180º C. Grease a baking tray (or two if you have them).
• Mix together the margarine or butter and all the sugar, beating well.
• Add eggs one at a time, beating well, then add the hot water and beat.
• Sift flour, salt and baking soda together and add, beating well.
• Add vanilla and beat. Add oatmeal, then nuts and chocolates chips, and mix together well.
• Put small spoonfuls of the mixture on to a greased baking sheet, leaving space for the cookies to spread, and bake for ten to fifteen minutes, till they are light golden brown in colour.
• Remove the cookies from the baking tray and leave to cool on a wire rack.
• This recipe makes lots of cookies (about 60) - but that’s not usually a problem!
Notes• If you can’t buy chocolate chips for
cooking, use plain dark cut into small pieces about half the size of coffee bean.
• You can use other nuts, or a mixture of nuts.
• The oatmeal should be the kind that you cook, not the kind you just mix with water.

Ingredients:0,5 kg minced beef
1 large onion, sliced rings
1.large tomato, sliced rings
8 hamburger buns
• Mix together:• 1 dsp salad oil, 1,5 dsp tomato ketchup, 1 tsp freshly
ground black pepper, 1 tsp salt, 1 egg
• Method:• 1. Mix salad oil mixture into minced beef.• 2. Divide mixture into a round 8 cm(3 inches) in
diameter keep 1 hour.• 3. Heat oil in a large frying pan so that entire
surface is coated. Fry hamburger 4 at a time, cooking each side for 5 minutes. Remove and fry remaining hamburgers in the same way.
• 4. Slit buns horizontally and half and heat in oven. Spread bottom round of each bun with mustard, place one hamburger on it, pour some meat juice from frying pan over it and top with onion and tomato rings. Put a dollop of mustard on hamburger and cover with top portion of bun. Prepare the remaining hamburgers the same way.
